cool, interested in the result
+1. What year is the subject vehicle. Interested because I'm also planning on an STi UP as part of my upgrade.

There is Epic Tuning in Bethlehem/allentown, Evans tuning and Area 1320 that's the few i can think of from the top of my head.
Evans is a new one to me. I did find the original thread I was looking for and the discussion was Area 1320 and Precision in NJ. In addition to some glowing endorsements I've also seen some significant warnings away from Area 1320. I sent an email to Phoenix Performance in Phoenixville but they didn't write back. I'm still undecided but at this point I'm leaning toward R/T in Lansdale as the best blend of convenience and good recommendations but they also didn't respond to an email inquiry. I also realized that I don't want to have a tune done with my winter tires so it looks like I may be waiting until some time in the spring before I do my big project.

Mine arrived yesterday. Thanks Bryan for the Merry Christmas. Got notice today that the gaskets are on the way from Mike. Since I can't think of a place I can safely do my data logging for an e-tune I now just need to decide on a tuner and a time to start turning wrenches.

A while back I read a thread in which a couple of pro tuners in the Allentown/Bethlehem area were discussed. One was recommended and there were warnings to avoid the other. I think Epic was one but I can't recall the other and now I can't locate the thread.
I'm anticipating an upgrade to an STi UP and a BNR 16g turbo so will be needing to retune my car afterward. I am likely to do the change at my parents' near Binghamton, NY because I have no garage to use in SE PA, but have been unable to locate any tuners closer than 3 hours away. Allentown would thus be the closest. I'm also considering going with an Infamous e-tune but want to explore all my options.
I'm looking to do a good DD tune so I don't need anything special other than a good measure of competency. Any help in locating a tuner (especially in the northeast part of PA or NY southern-tier) or opinions on my options would be greatly appreciated.

It hasn't been sticky marked yet. Not easy to get a mod's attention I guess.
It should rest near the top. But here's a link in the mean time:

Perfect. That worked.

have broken off NJ/PA/DE now into a separate thread.
Do we need to track this down and subscribe as a new thread?

Makes more sense to me. It does seem that if the purpose of this is for geographically specific topics that, especially when you consider the extreme compass points of each, there's too much distance between PA and VA to make most things relevant for the current setup. I subscribe to the separate Philly area thread and even with that we can be a decent distance apart.

Reminds me of mine when I picked it up on 10/1/2004! I never used a battery maintainer on it (as I do on two other cars), but mine has 58K miles, and used to sit for weeks on end (buddy of mine has been driving it for a few months after the new clutch). Original battery finally died in June.
I was surprised to find that mine still has the original battery and it's the same age as yours. I'm anticipating probably needing a new one before or during next winter and with this kind of performance would certainly consider getting an OEM one.

Give me the last 8 of your VIN and I can tell you exactly what you're asking.

On the list is ltd 'Limited' and unltd 'Unlimited'? If so, do I correctly infer that unltd means a general production model and ltd would be so-indicated by a plate on the car?
-
I think like it was said a few post up, he didn't post interior colors, that's why there seems to be doubles.
I inferred that the colors in parentheses at the end of some lines were the interior colors. Mine definitely is black and I now know that the 'P' in the color name is pearl. I know also from the Carfax that mine is an early production model since it was originally delivered in October '04. Still looking for any help in deciphering where my car is in the list.

Please excuse my ignorance, I'm new to this world of XT/GT. Because I have yet to see another garnet red Subaru I got to this site looking for production numbers. Despite reading all 10 pages of this, as well as other threads, I'm having trouble translating my car/VIN to what I see on the list. I saw 'garnet red [something]' listed on the web site where I found the car. I infer that's GRP on the list. I thought we had a gray interior but maybe there's no such thing and it's black? The XT and 5-speed AT are pretty self-explanatory. But there seem to be multiple matches on the list for this combination. What am I missing? To facilitate answers here's some info from the builder's plate.

If all other things were equal Akuma would be my first choice. I just have to balance all my odd logistical issues to make the final decision. Thanks for the input.
