Any word on where the leak is coming from? I just started to have a very similar leak coming from what looks like the oil cooler. On my old legacy I had the same problem but it was the oil cooler, so that's my first thought. I want to assume but it was very hard to tell exactly where it was coming out >:| ordered the oil cooler gaskets and hoses and we'll see.

Hey there. I'm still watching and haven't been able to diagnose the source of the oil leak. On a lighter note my coolant appears to have stopped evaporating.

I may just live with the slow leak for now since it loses about 1/3qt per 1000 miles.

  2. Hi All,

    Subaru 2010 3.6R 140K miles on odometer.

I'm trying to diagnose a slow oil leak and slow disappearance of anti freeze from the overflow.

I have to add 1/3 quart oil every 1000 miles. I have read this is normal in the Outback forums. Not sure if so, but it makes sense with the age of my car and engine tolerances loosening up.

I've attached some pics. Hard to tell if from head gasket. I have also spilled oil from up top when filling so some of the sludge could have come from this. I did not spill during last oil change. Or maybe oil cooler hoses/ clamps just need to be replaced. Doesn't look like oil cooler seal needs to be replaced, but i'm just assuming.

  3. Hey all,

Been away for a few years :p. Legacy has been treating me well :)

    Currently installed:

    RCE blacks and RCE Bilsteins

    Upgraded RSB and FSB

    Perrin Endlinks

I hear clunking in the rear on driveways driving over uneven pavement.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this? Would LCAs resolve this issue? I have a small camber issue in the rear that I have been living with for probably close to 100K miles.

Any other bushings I could replace because of wear and tear to stiffen-up things? Suspension still feels great.

I haven't made suspension changes other than what is mentioned above, which occurred at about 50K-60K miles.

  4. Yeah, 245/45/18 and 245/40/19 are only a 0.9mm total difference in diameter and 2.8mm difference in total circumference, as close as makes no difference to identical in size. I did a good lot of research before picking that fitment comparing others' vehicles and set ups and who had to and didn't have to roll and it should be just fine. I've already been adjusting my driving to be more careful over bumps as a precaution, but I currently still have just a touch under 4 fingers of fender gap, so everything should be just so at a 1" drop without fender modification (hopefully). :)

You should be good without modification with a 1 inch drop. I've got 19x8.5 +38 with 245/40 on RCE blacks/Bilstein's.

  5. If shipping cost wasn't so awful from Japanparts, i'd pick this up in a second as there is nothing stateside that will fit the Perrin quad tips on my car.

Not a fan of the vents though

Edit: I changed the pic not noticing that the lower piece i guess is separate at least according to this site. The lower piece is only about $107. If this would fit our cars, i wouldn't mind throwing down for it. Actually, you likely need the bumper too :(

    I included both pics.
