  1. All right. Since the GB for the MSI/Eibach is done. What's the spring of choice for a DD? NYC streets and a nice 1" drop on OE shocks/struts?
  2. Well, I appreciate your response, TSi+WRX, but where you're getting this petulance and insulting is beyond me. That's not how I sent it. If that's how you recieved it, then that's on you. If anything, I'm frustrated. Which I have no problem admitting. I'm TRYING to understand the basics, I've read and re-read. What happens is: a topic will begin and somewhere alond the way two or more people will begin to engage in a back-and-forth totally diverging from the "basics". I'm sure if you re-read some of the threads you'll see what I mean. In any case, thanks for your help.
  3. Well, I don't see where I wasn't appreciative of all the input. I do not understand why when I ask a simple question, like "what's 1+1"? the answers I get start by explaining trigonometry. You're right, I don't have a basic level of understanding on the lights of these cars. I've been building N/A cars for 40 years. That is why complicated answers do nothing but confuse me. And I've read the Daniel Stern thread 3 times. If the fog bowls only handle 35W, then why are the H4s 55W? You see what I mean? Lots of people on here seem to forget that they weren't born with all this know-how. Everybody had a first day. Sorry if I troubled anyone.
  4. Why can't anybody answer a question without sending me back to threads that I have to read through and still can't understand? It's like dealing with Sprint: "let me connect you to...". Jeez. Can someone just answer the question, please? What are the limits of the bowls on 2008 LGT? Can the fogs and mains handle 65W without melting? Thank you.
  5. You're glad? lol. Hell, I was trying to figure out how to shift and hold a flashlight out the window if I hadn't . BTW, you seem up on all this stuff. Someone commented I should stay away from silverstars. Any particular reason? I know they're nothing compaired to a retrofit, but they were free and they seem to be twice as good as the OEMs.
  6. Okay. I had to put on my reading glasses, but I see now how the flat side of the bulb base has to fit into the bowl. It's crazy that the difference is so small that the clip works either way, but it does. Thanks to those who went before me. This is all pending nightfall when I can actually test them.
  7. Okay. Please tell me I don't have to align the lows after a simple bulb swap. Freind got me some silverstar ultras and they are crap beyond 10 feet in front of the car. Tonight, my wife had a blowout and I went to help her thinking, boy, I've got some serious candles now! Wrong. The phillips(H7 55W) that were in there before sucked, but they were better than these. Is it the bulbs(H7 55W)? Alignment? Is there some burn in time? According to the manual, the alignment process is different (but I guess you know that). What I don't understand is how the clips can go on so easily if the bulbs aren't seated correctly. And what's correctly? With the tab up, down, left, right? I'm going to re-seat them today and see what happens, but I really don't get a bulb swap meaning a re-alignment.
  8. What would I compare them to? Do you have a better bulb in mind? And what about the squirrel-finders?
  9. Could someone just, PLEASE suggest the best replacement bulbs for my 2008 LGT? I'd like blue squirrel-finders, if possible. A retro-fit is not in the plans as yet. And by best, I mean which will give the most distance and width without melting my housings or lenses and I can just change out the OEMs, which are ass anyway. TIA.
  10. Agree completly. What's with all the cobb stuff? Whiteline, perrin, cuzco all seem to have better fit and come with renforced collars or some such to add strength to the sube OEM piece that seems to break under the pressure of thicker sways. So what's the deal? My '08 LGT has 17mm F and 19mm R and I want to go 22mm. That a plan? Oh, yeah, I'll be throwing some eilback pro springs on to lower by an inch.
  11. Infamous suggested I ask you about this issue.

     

    I have the Tatrix 2.0 cable and RomRaider installed and I can log without a problem; pulls and all. I can even read hex files I d/l for a stg 1 flash.

     

    Now here's the problem: ECUflash WILL NOT accept the updated defs. When I extract to metadata folder, it overwrites but when I go to read ECU, it's still the old defs.

    I've tried everything, manually loading defs, uninstall-reinstall, different laptops, different desktops. I just can't get these new defs to load for some reason.

    If anybody, ANYBODY has ECUflash with the new defs loaded, please PM me a copy. It's all I can think of before I have to actually take the car to a tuning shop.

  12. Okay, I just can't get this thing to read. What I need is a ROM to test load and see if at least that part will work. I can log with RR. However, I have a ticking issue which must be resolved first be the stealer since the car is under warranty. It sounds like a valve issue.

  14. Sh!t. I can't get this f'n ECUflash to read my ECU. It won't accept new defs. Run as admin, run in xp compatability, nothing. I'll try a few more things but I may just have to cop a base ROM for a 2008 LGT ltd w/ SI-drive. Lemme know if you have ANY ideas. As you know, Bryan's FMIC + pump along with dp and CAI are on the way. I need SOMETHING to start with. Thanks.
  15. Okay, is this the DDE Lightning Kit for Legacy you're recommending? Because I see mention of glue. It's probably too cold here right now for that. They make no mention of fogs, other than replacement bulbs. Yeah, those "touring" speeds. Good thing I got tin.
  16. Thank you. Whoa. I got dizzy trying to research this. Whew! Can someone just suggest the brightest/strongest bulbs to replace OEM without hassle, until I can get around to retrofitting? Right now I'm concentrating on engine and suspension, but OEM bulbs are ass.
  17. Excuse my ignorance, but can I use that Ultra in my OEM housings without melting them? And, if not, what are the bulbs I would use to upgrade fogs and mains? Thanks.
  18. For my '08 LGT does it make much difference whether I use the ebay VAG-com cable or the tatrix 2.0? Also, if I use a Cobb dp, it tapers to 2.5. How much difference will a 3.0 mid pipe make? Because in that case I'd need the AVO which stays 3.0 the whole way. Thanks
