  1. stock, but 06+ (05 is the only year with no chrome around the projector) and they took out the amber in the turn signal, and looks like they vinyl'd the hell out of it.

Actually I think it's a thick plastic eyelid rather than a stick on vinyl material...

beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say.

  2. spotted a silver LGT on rt16 in wellesley today, it was de-badged and had black and pink wheels and a what looked like a chain link license plate frame

Spotted this car again today. Upon further inspection its a debadged spec B, the wheels are actually black and red. A mysubie.com sticker on the back window...

I think you must be working on the Wellesley High School project.

  3. u brew beer?! where abouts in boston are u? id love to sample a batch sometime lol. i also spotted a female driving a white 05-09 LGT, stock of course because other than lord chilly i havent encountered another modded LGT around my area.

Yeah, small batches. Last fall I made an Octoberfest that I thought was better than Sam Adams Octoberfest. This time I made a Hefeweizen, similar to Harpoon UFO.

This place in Natick, Barleycorns, has all the equipment and ingredients you need, they let you use their brewing kettles and help you along the way. You come back in 2-3 weeks and bottle the beer... or put it in kegs like me :).

My roommate brews beer in our kitchen too.

I live in Brighton, feel free to come by in 2 weeks I'll pour you a pint.

  4. I had my car dyno tuned March 5th. The tuning was done by Bren Tuning. He uses PSI Racing's (Auburn, MA) Dynapack 2000.

    Set-up:

    BNR EVO16G

    Invidia Catless Up Pipe

    Megan Racing Catless Down Pipe

    Infamous/Stromung 3" Cat Back

    AVO Top Mount

    GrimmSpeed EBCS

    Stock Air Box & Filter

    Stock Fuel Pump

    Stock Injectors

    Conditions:

    Mean Temp: 39 °F

    Average Humidity: 81

    Elevation: 531'

    Prelude to Results:

We did somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 pulls on the dyno before it was all said and done. It was pretty evident early on that the injectors and fuel pump weren't going to be able to keep up with the amount of air that this turbo was flowing. The stock fuel system couldn't keep up after 5500 RPM. There is obviously some power being left on the table.

    Results:

Boost: 19 PSI @ 3300 RPM tapering to 16 PSI @ red line (6250 RPM)

Horse Power: 291 @ 5300 RPM and staying relatively flat to red line

    Torque: 322 @ 3100 RPM

    Conclusion:

The car drives awesome. The torque is right there whenever you need it. The turbo is very responsive. My tuner was impressed with how well the BNR EVO 16G was performing, and if he's happy I'm more than happy.

  5. For a performance shop I'd recommend Dent Sport Garage (aka: DSG). They are in Norwood, about 20-25 min from Waltham. They do a ton of work on Subaru's. They are pretty involved with local motor sports too.

I just had my 60k service as well as up pipe TBE installed there last friday. I'll be headed back soon to replace my turbo. They list a lot of their typical pricing online, I think it's pretty reasonable.

I'm going to retract this recommendation for the time being. I've been trying to work with them on a BNR turbo install, they don't really seem to helpful to me. They are giving me the vibe that they don't want anything to do with LGTs.

I first went to them with info on the BNR EVO 16g, the suggested a larger TMIC and a fuel system up grade. They went on to say they do not recommend the AVO TMIC and would not install anything similar for anyone. Ultimately, DSG suggested I buy a $1,100+ SARD TMIC from Japan.

All I wanted was a 16G with a conservative tune, stock fueling, and stock TMIC. Either there is a huge disconnect somewhere between my wants and the shops wants or I'm asking for something that can't be done. You decide.

  6. for maintenance like oil change, brakes and stuff. and also i have front suspension clunking for some time that i want to get it fixed.

not looking for performance upgrades at the moment. but it would be good to know if there are shops around.

  7. Will Yakima racks (clipped and towered) hold a 35 lb ladder on the road? Does it hold kayaks or anything comparable to the ladder weight?

Just called the stealership and they said they do not make roof racks for the legacy sedan.
