  1. thanks, as soon as i drove off the ramps i noticed how tight the rear end is.
  2. so today i wanted to get rid of my CEL. well it turned into a hell of a day. i couldnt sleep again last night, so around 4am i decided to take a nice peaceful drive to my hall and check in. stopped by advanced auto to pick up my knock sensor i ordered. got home, made myself some eggs and let the car cool down a bit before i start doing anything. i go outside and it took me all of like 3 mins to change it. i wasnt expecting it to go so smoothly. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-4733-1323135262192.jpg i then decided to replace the purge valve to since that was giving me a CEL. i had an extra so i used that. heres the stock location http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-4732-1323135264778.jpg now the task to get to this sucker is retarded. i was feeling motivated so i decided to try and put my tdo5 on and the 3" tbe i have lying around. so i pulled the stock exhaust off http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-4774-1323135263220.jpg compare turbos http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-4779-1323135270757.jpg i tried using the turbo without a tmic cause the one i have needs a bpv. in the end, it didnt work. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-4659-1323135262700.jpg so i had to put the vf11 back in and put the DP on with a new gasket i had lying around. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-4636-1323135270235.jpg i relocated the purge valve to the top of the intake manifold for easier access next time. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-4772-1323135265301.jpg I decided to put my STI CF strut on while i was at it. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-4631-1323135261108.jpg after all that, it was still kinda early. so after getting the DP on i was just about to put the catback on and then decided to swap out the sway bar since the exhaust is out of the way. stock swaybar http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-4767-1323135271286.jpg taking a break http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-4635-1323135263697.jpg everything swapped over pretty easy. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-4768-1323135266408.jpg i then put the rest of the catback on for now till i put the STi muffler on. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/93%20SS%20turbo/photobucket-4795-1323135271793.jpg well that was kinda my day, how was yours??

  5. just fished thru all 24 pages. i think im more confused now than when i started reading... ok my eyes hurt now. im looking to do a 6sp swap but now im scared to ask questions...LOL.
  6. i guess this is me? 577.....BSM.....2005 Legacy GT sedan MT Ltd (blk) i have 30k miles on mine. maybe i have the least mileage of them all??...lol http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa474/sqc151/05%20LGT/mark31.jpg
  7. the best thing for all you guys new to the subaru engine and its design should read here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_EJ_engine#EJ22E all the info u need is here. also click on the blue highlighted words to learn more. when it comes to swapping. A subaru is like legos. any drivetrain part will fit from 89 to present. some parts will need small amounts of frabrication from different model years but mainly engine, trans, and rears will bolt in.
  8. u have an EJ22E engine. completely different from the EJ22T.
  9. ^^^ probly cheaper to put another engine in or have one as a spare. just my .02 cents... i sold an ej22 for 250 bucks with 75k on it. i googled rebuild kits for subaru. heres what i found. http://www.rpmrons.com/Subarukits1.html Legacy, Impreza 1990-96 2212cc EJ22E engine 2.2L F.I. 16-valve SOHC H4 main kit EKSU9M $653.72 (exc. California) 2.2L F.I. 16-valve SOHC H4 main kit EKSU9LM $680.23 (w/Cal. emissions) 2.2L F.I. 16-valve SOHC H4 re-ring kit EKSU9R $403.80
  10. the 2.2L n/a in stock form is very reliable. but as far as making power, not worth it. u want power, swap the engine.
  11. 95 2.2L Legacy's were OBDII 95 1.8L Impreza's were OBDI and the 2.2L were OBDII 96 was the year ALL cars had to be OBDII.
