  1. The added noise from the KB pitch stopper is making me paranoid. Sounds like bad knocking... Gonna take awhile to get used to.
  2. Has it been mentioned what the core quality or fin density will be compared to that "other" TMIC? I'd like to get an idea of efficiency.
  3. Test drive complete. I couldn't be any happier with how everything feels, literally smiling ear to ear the whole time. There will be some new sounds to get used to with the stiffer pitch stopper and shifter bushings. The kartboy end links seem to sharpen up the steering, but that may just be the result of driving the ek for almost a month straight. More updates to come as everything breaks in.
  4. Didn't get a chance to mess with it last night after getting out of class late. -_-
  5. It is jarring at times, as unexpected potholes make my ass pucker and passengers cringe. At cruising and track days though, the setup really shines and performs incredibly well. Not as well as some higher end coilovers, but then again what damper/spring combo does? Overall it's a nice performance bump at the expense of some comfort.
  6. It seems I forgot to plug in the starter solenoid wire. Easy fix, and should be ready for a test drive tonight.
  7. Got everything back together tonight and was getting excited to drive it to work tomorrow, only to get blue balled. Starter isn't doing anything. I can hear the fuel pump whizzing in the back, but no start or click sound from the starter. Battery is new and was on a tender the whole time. My bet is either grounding or starter solenoid. So tomorrow I'll be taking the TMIC off again. -_________-
  8. Keenster, I had them machined at Backs Cylinder Head Service in Lexington, KY. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Backs-Cylinder-Head-Service/103971426335798
  9. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/03/6f317b4248df55f46debd7a5aa2754e1.jpg Clutch is in and transmission mated up. After bolting in the slave cylinder I gave the pedal a feel and was presently surprised to feel it being lighter and very smooth. I'll wait until after break in to pass final judgment. Installed a few other parts and performed some maintenance while I was in there. Kartboy rear shifter stay bushing Kartboy front shifter stay bushing TiC updated shift linkage and bushings Kartboy FSB endlinks Kartboy pitching stopper Motive Autowerks 3port EBCS New OEM exhaust gaskets from the uppipe back. Trans refilled with Motul Gear 300 Full chassis lube with Valvoline multi purpose grease Just a few more things to button up and we'll be back on the road.
  10. Bending the spring absolutely fixed the problem. Thanks! Now I can continue with reassembly on the first officially cold weekend here in Ohio. (Low 19F, High in the 40's)
  11. It's there, another friend also suggested bending it. Hopefully that does the trick
  12. Any help on this fork issue would be great. Hoping to finish this up tomorrow.
  13. So I'm having an issue... I'm installing a new clutch, and in a fit of OCD I decided to remove the clutch fork from the transmission to clean it. After greasing the pivot ball and reinstalling, it will not stay up against the pivot ball. It wobbles and does not feel secure, and I wouldn't trust it to pull the TOB back from the PP when the clutch pedal is let out. Am I missing something? Does the fork retainer spring need replaced??? Here's a short video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/s9sqigfj3ng7b9o/VID_20141101_224316461.mp4?dl=0
  14. I jumped straight to the process west style TMIC since a friend of mine had an IPR and always hated the removal/reinstallation process. Your process idea seems sound, to eliminate fitment issues at the final connection.
  15. That. Was. A. Bitch. Must have tried and missed getting everything together at least 5 times. Almost threw something. I do remember thinking bolts would be better but I feel like there was something else in the way and let that idea pass. I have a larger 8cm turbine housing and full size 16g compressor. Maybe clearance was an issue??? I'll have to revisit that.
  16. That was all dealt with already! Banjo bolt filter was removed when the 16g went in and I replaced the return hose since it felt a little spongy.
  17. Max, I'm planning on removing the turbo to replace gaskets anyway, so should be a non issue.
  18. Removed TMIC, dropped LCA's, removed front endlinks, drained trans fluid, removed downpipe, and pulled front axles last night. Taught my buddy Eike a few things about his Subaru in the process. Should have the prop shaft and trans out tonight to get a look at the clutch.
  19. No LWFW here, finally going OEM single mass. Time to embrace that rocks in a blender transmission sound on decel -_- when combined with group n mount and bushings. Thanks for the install tips, though this will be my second time doing this!
  20. A few more small items showed up for the clutch swap. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/09/17/6ddbaeb82a7b2fd20a58bf81296afcad.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/09/17/f089264866e1522322ea8de69bd4a401.jpgNow just waiting on torx bits from amazon and Motoool from TiC. Also picked up a holy shift kit.Disassembly begins tomorrow.
  21. Could be the bearings in the compressor being worn out but somehow I doubt that could vibrate through to the cabin. Usually they just get noisy.
  22. It can be a major pain in the ass if not sprayed on thick enough. If it's too thin if will tear into little pieces rather than getting that long satisfying booger type peel.
  23. Peeled and re-dipped the grill and fog covers today. Layed down nicely despite the 60°F ambient temps. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/16/esutatyt.jpg
  24. It's really too bad I hacked up the FMS duct so bad it went in the trash... I recently noticed Process West sells individual ducts sans intercooler now. Hoping on going this route. Awesome write up and diagram though!
