Legacy360 has one of the nicest looking and sounding exhaust systems I've seen.
Thanks, but the car belongs to someone else now

Awesome compilation of information, thanks!

Looks good, I see they finally decided to paint the mirror covers on the base model
-
So then is it possible to replace the clamps without removing the axle and losing a lot of grease? Sorry for the stupid question.
-
So my passenger side CV boot is leaking grease as of sometime this last week. I'd much rather rebuild/repair the seal then purchase the entire axle assembly. Would it be best to purchase all the necessary parts from a dealer or purchasing a rebuilt kit from Napa, Oreily's, etc? Looking to try to get this fixed this weekend.

what kind of performance gains where there? i was asking about an exhaust for my 2.5i and was told it would cause a loss of power, and loss of torque.
I never noticed a loss in power or torque, but it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Good to know that I wasn't going nuts seeing the reveal with the AVO grille on my car. But for $70 and a quick coat of paint, I will run it for awhile.

Here's my 2010 with a 3" Magnaflow CBE

Exhaust is installed. Holy drone.... batman! Magnaflow is deep, has a rumble at idle that you can hear from inside the car and sounds sweet. But wow, it's a drone machine. Perfect for someone who wants to be heard.
I may have to get a resonator installed.
Yes, after a couple weeks of driving i will be looking to get a resonator installed. Shouldn't be to complicated since the mid-pipe comes apart in sections. Though it's amazing that you can actually hear your exhaust now

I don't have a downpipe and was out pushing the car today. Very pleased with the Magnaflow, we have a winner. I'm dunn....
I will believe you're done when you can make it to the end of june before changing out again.
Good to hear you like the sound too!

nice transformation
Hard to tell that my car is a base model from the outside anymore only the well trained eye will notice the mirror caps aren't body color
-
Ok...I'm a 5th Gen N00B...just bought one for the wife...
Did your car come with a single exit exhaust?
Yup, here's a pic of what it looked like brand new.

Leagacy360, did you have to do any tuning after installing that?
Nope, no tuning done.
-
wow, that place has an awesome price, did you have any trouble dealing with them? How are the shipping times?
have you been on the highway for an extended time yet? Is it pretty mellow or is it still pretty loud when cruising at highway speeds? I'm getting really tempted to buy this now.
No problems with the ordering process. All of their orders are drop shipped from Magnaflow in Cali. It was only 4 days for ground shipping for free. Haven't had a chance to take it on the freeways much, but will get some good drive time in this week.

siick man! how much was it and where did you get it from? is it a 3" cbe??
Edited the orginal post and added a link to the website I bought it from. And yes it is a 3" cbe. I think a lot of the noise is due to the lack of a resonator in the mid pipe.
-
@ Legacy360 - nice!
What exhaust is that?
Thanks! It's the Magnaflow cat back exhaust. Fitment is pretty good and I can now actually hear my exhaust while driving
-
Ok I figured I would just start a new thread for this instead of having in parts of different threads.
I bought the new Magnaflow Cat Back Exhaust for a 2010 Legacy GT and installed it on my 2.5i. (Note I was only able to do this because my car had the exhaust hangers on the passenger side already. Not all 2.5i models have them.) The part # is 16377.
EDIT: This is a 3" catback that goes to 2.5" at the Y. I purchased it from www.performancepeddler.com
The installation was a pretty simple process. Remove the OEM muffler(s) and mid-pipe to prep for the new kit. Since I didn’t have a lift it was a pain in the @ss to get the donut gasket connection loose/reconnected. Make sure all the pieces are loosely fited before tightening anything down. The kit has 3 band clamps, 1 - 3” and 2 - 2.5”. In order to get the exhaust onto the hangers I found it helpful to spray some WD40 on the hanger and the rubber hanger. The instructions say to tighten the clamps to approx 40 ft/lbs, which is pretty much when they are compressed completely. Also the donut gasket is recommended to be torque to 13.3 ft/lbs (from Subaru service manual).
I purchased a couple of poly hanger bushings from Rallitek for the passenger side of the car. About $5 each.

Installed on the car
3” to 2.5” y-split
