  1. From hence forward I propose that thou shalt refer to thine buddy's friend as thine own buddy.
lol sorry. next time ill say hes my buddy lol.

Okey dokey. I get it. So I have to wait 3 more weeks to find if something is going to happen? I've waited 11 years, a couple more days isn't going to break me.

yeah. he wanted to meet up this weekend or next. and i might be able to do it next weekend. but it depends on my schedule and if i can get time to go down there.

What will you be doing about the wheel bearings? That concerns me the most about running these wider wheels.

one step at a time. i want to search and try to find a company who makes wheel bearings that will make a good product and also make them in a 5x114.3 lug pattern.

  2. My buddy's friend has the molds now. He is the new owner of all the Karlton flares and he is producing them. Karlton does not own them anymore.

I actually just talked to my buddy's friend today. I should be meeting up with him In the next 2 to 3 weeks hopefully to talk about getting this going.

  3. I'm really liking these Karlton fender flares!

They were out of production but they are back now. Makes putting 275-295 and even 315 tires possible.

the new owner of karlton flares is planning to make a set of these for the lgt, he's good friends with my buddy. so he will most likely be using my car for mockup and first install. ill try n find out how soon he's looking to make a lgt set.

  4. OK, so I received my Spec.B lockout cable today that I ordered to replace the broken cable from the 2010 transmission. I have a sneaking suspicion that the cables between the STi and the Spec.B 6MT are different based on the amount of exposed cable; the new Spec.B one looks longer. Also, it didn't look like the Spec.B Cobb STS had a chance at fitting with the STi cable. It could all be in the adjuster, I don't know yet. I'll know more maybe next weekend when I have time to change it out:

i did the spec b shift linkage with an sti lockout cable. had the same problem you had where the cable seemed a little short. but you could always call the dealership and see if the spec b has a different part number than the sti. if so, it might be different lengths. i was able to make it work, just took me a while.

  5. Not saying it can't handle it, I'm saying with higher mileage, and higher hp it puts strain on the joints. Will an auto driveshaft work. Yes. Would I rather do preventative maintence and spend the extra 400$ and do it once. And never have to worry about it again. I plan to track my car, so it's gonna be put under load alot more than a daily where you might do a few pulls here and there.
  6. I did not want to buy a used automatic driveshaft. I wanted to replace as many parts as possible with brand new parts. Also to run a auto driveshaft you have to swap the diff flange and the custom driveshaft I had built is a lot beefier than the auto driveshaft. I'm doing a built where I plan to make 550-600whp on e85 so I'd rather no risk having a part fail on a used driveshaft(u joints Ect) I did a custom 2 piece.
  7. heres my list of parts/part numbers and pricing from my complete 6 speed swap for anyone looking to do the swap. i did not shortcut or cheap out on any parts. alot of parts were new or very very low miles
