  1. Did you just clear the amber? or did you black out the headlights too? I'd love to see pics.
  2. Thanks gfxdave, I don't recall seeing that. Then again, when I read the FAQ before I wasn't looking to add-on. http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=12040SB30&tp=3351 Found it.
  3. What sort of Antenna connection is on the OEM 6 disc HU?I'm guessing it's the grey plug on the lower left in back. correct? I'm looking to install an HD Radio tuner and it has the "Old fashioned" Plug-in type. Do they sell a converter for ours to plug in?
  4. Sounds great. Is red constant and yellow switched? I'll just Vampire off those instead of making a three way connection where your harnesses connect.
  5. Thanks for your answers. And thanks for your harness. It worked perfectly. Any idea what the best place to tap into near the console for 12v switched and unswitched? I've a HD Radio I'd like to install this week and don't have access to my multimeter.
  6. I just finished reading this again. But, I haven't found the answer. The wires running up to the stock tweeter locations. Is it sending full frequencies there? or is there some sort of crossover (passive/active)? And if so? does anyone know what the freq range going to the tweeters is?(are?)
  7. Actually I'm digging for a black zip tie I have lying around. But thanks. I appreciate the complement.
  8. Finally hard mounted my Ampli-Rider headphone amp so I could use Jazzy's Aux-in the way it was intended. (for me). Also installed an Infinity Basslink II w/4SC expansion module. (35w x 4) And I used the Forward/Reverse harness from (93svx...) Thanks to this Forum and all the wizards who find/make a workaround, I finally have audio I can live with for some time. Has anyone used Jazzy's Aux-in for a Garmin or other Nav unit? http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj305/Mitch_9_23_60/DSC00277.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj305/Mitch_9_23_60/DSC00273.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj305/Mitch_9_23_60/DSC00274.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj305/Mitch_9_23_60/DSC00271-1.jpg
  9. yeah. You do. I had one already because that's how I first had hooked up my Ipod shuffle. I forgot that some of you have a proprietary connector on your Ipods.
  10. Sounds like alternator whine. I'm thinking the GLI should fix that.
  11. Not yet. I've only used it a little bit today. It actually sounds a lot better, Since I'm not overdriving the stock HU. Any questions? please ask me or Gary at http://www.electric-avenues.com/amplirider.html He's been quite helpful and knowledgable. And he's Canadian. :-)
  12. I got the 12V headphone amp in today. First impressions are good. Well packaged. Easy install. Although I may move it to a different location. I used a "Vampire" clip to get power from the front Cig lighter. Grounded it to a bolt under the Handbrake. Right now, I have it lodged between the console and the passenger seat with three inputs facing up. I have the volume controls routed back under the console to the driverside. (for now) Where I needed to have the HU up to 28 or so to play it "Loud" beforehand. It's pretty loud down around 10-15 now. 13. $65 shipped from Canada. Gary seems to be a true audiophile.
  14. I was considering asking one of the CMOY sellers. Then I ran across GARY A from electric avenues( ^ see earlier post). between his High-end Amp with multiple inputs and a remote volume. Including his personalized customer service. I wrote to him Mid morning and I've already received 3 e-mails from him and a new AmpliRider is on it's way to me already. I'll keep the board informed of this new idea that may solve most of my problems.
  15. Kelvrick - Thanks for that idea. Searching led me to this handy little product which is probably exactly what I needed. I liked the CMOY amps but most all of the ones I found, along wiih the boostaroo are all battery operated. Having the 2Gen iPod shuffle I HAVE to use the headphone jack. requiring me to have the Volume up into the 20's Radio is quite loud at 10. http://www.electric-avenues.com/amplirider.html
  16. Well It works. Once I pushed it out of the garage and got a jump. I decided to go for a ride and charge the Battery. I turned on the HU and the HVAC and it all worked. Thanks for the help. Now I just have to drill some holes and use some grommets. Any body know were to find female 1/8" jacks. Preferably that you don't need to solder. I want to make some flush mount inputs. CN; It works.
  17. Thanks Nate. yeah I've seen those posts about display issues. In no way do I think it has anything to do with Jazzy, Just a matter of me having had gone into the center console. I'll keep working with it and keep you posted.
  18. I've examined the blades and the slots on the front and the faceplate under a magnifying glass. Nothing appears to be bent or broke. Just something keeping the faceplate from seating correctly. I don't know whether to button it all up and take it to the dealer. Or to tighten it all up in hopes that it'll start working once I punch it in the mouth. Not panicked. Just frustrated cuz it was going so easily.
  19. LOL. um. Actually yes. I am in PM with nate. I figured some of it out. I wrote,
  20. Okay. I'm in the middle of the install. Everything going good. Put it back together, plug in white plug and see and hear it counting CD's. Turn key on and no power to the HU at all. Do I need to plug everything back up to get power to the HU? I've taken radio/cd apart to make sure ribbon cable is secure....same prob. Any suggestions?
  21. I got mine in on Monday. I'm going to atempt this tomorow if I can fit the car into the garage.
