  1. OK, so my LGT went to the shop today for an oil change, and a check-up on my rear wheel bearings (both are bad, of course) and I also asked the tech to check the torque on the lower strut bolts and swaybar links and brackets - even told him I'd pay a 1/2 hour labor, if necessary. I installed a set of iON springs last week and every once in awhile get some creaking sounds from the suspension. Not a clunk like when my endlink was loose - it's more subtle than that. Anyway, I wasn't entirely sure that I put everything back together properly so I asked him to check it out. When I went to pick up my car, the guy said that the sounds I'm hearing were from exhaust leaks I've got at both mufflers, and that I messed up the gaskets when I unbolted the mufflers to do my suspension!! Um, no. I didn't really know how to try and explain the beauty of the Hogzaust system to the guy, so I just told him don't worry about the exhaust, and by the way, were all the suspension bits torqued properly?? "Well, I didn't check those because what you are hearing is an exhaust leak." DOH!!!
  2. Went Stage 1 Hogzaust myself today with SeeYa's 'engineered solution': so far, so good! This being my first Subie I'm not sure I really appreciate the "boxer burble" at idle yet, but I do like the ever-so-slightly throatier sounds under acceleration: great sound, but with the 12-gage wire it's still 'subtle'. Perfect for what I'm looking for, I think!! I think you could probably go closer to 12" on the wire, so you have two FULL circles on the ends, and I'd suggest 10- or 8-gage, as well, if you want something a little more noticeable. Thanks to both Hogs and SeeeYa!!
  3. Definitely sounds better than calling it the 'MEAT_MOD!! I'm intrigued; I might have to give this a try myself...

    Quotes???

Six pages in, and nobody has quoted Hunter S. Thomson yet?? "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me."
  5. Clear, concise, extremely well-written - thanks, Craig! Have you ever thought of a career writing manuals?? I'm not really a fan of ACC systems in general, but I haven't found this one too bothersome. I do wish the fan speed control was a dial instead of buttons, though - it's kinda awkward to take your eyes off the wheel and find those buttons while reaching past the shifter.
