Turbo and the new timing components are on. Bout to put in the cam seals, then the pullies, and put it in timing. Just moving right along, I'm finally at the point that I don't have to order any more parts. Just waiting on the oil cooler to arrive, then it's going in the car. Finally after a year and a half I'm getting close!!
-
So I was going to use the factory oil cooler, but it costs close to $300 so I've decided to make my own oil cooler and relocate my filter too so that the headers don't bake my oil. This should also increase my oil capacity to around 6-7 quarts with the stock oil pan and leave the oil much cooler than the stock cooler does. Ill post up pics soon as parts arrive next week. As for the rest of my motor the only thing slowing me down is waiting on parts to roll in.

Soon as I graduate (again) and get a job I'm upgrading rails and to a/n dash10 lines to the bulk head then dash 8 for a return.
-
I don't believe I have any pictures
-
I can see if I took any, but I put it in the tank right before the last pooped on me
-
I made the bracket myself I modled it after one I saw online somewhere
And yeah I'll be doing tons of engine braking and not revving high at all
-
For the break in I'm gonna run waste gate boost pressure with ams oil high zinc content oil and be pretty easy on it for 1000miles then start to use more power
-

Motor is coming together nicely I'm going to try and have it running late this week. Then it's on to trying to break the 11 second barrier

I don't know if any of y'all use the rock auto web store but they have crazy cheap subaru timing kits on there and it's the nice gates kit that has the Kevlar belt. And you can buy timing components individually if you don't need a whole kit. Just thought I would share the wealth.

I washed it up yesterday to prep for the motor install. After a year if sitting she still cleans up nicely! Ready to have it move again, pushing it in and out of the garage was no fun.
-
Heads are fully cleaned out I'm going to try and have a fully assembled short block done over the weekend. And if I have time start to drop it into the car. It's time to let this beast breathe after over a year off
-
I see tremendously wonderful things from Big Weiner. If you are gonna go, go all the way. I like your thinking.
Haha I just caught the big wiener in there.
-
I'm going to try and finish assembling my short block over the weekend. I'm just waiting on the snap on guy to send me a few of my tools back. Ill post up more pictures as I get the job done.

I was thinking about building another stronger block and running a Borg Warner efr9180
-
From the looks of it you got it, Im still struggling to finish my motor so I can atleast have a car again. Riding a bicycle is getting real old after a year and some time of not having a car. But I'm going to try and get a 10 second pass with the current turbo. If I can't get it with that ill just save up and go rotated.
-
I made it on dragtimes.com!!
-
We have a hot tank at school, I'm going to use it hopefully tomorrow
-
Anyone know how to clean out the heads?
-
Yeah it's no fun, my last two motors blew due to a crappy build for a shop I will not mention. That's why I'm building this one on my own
-
Well considering this will be my fourth motor... I'm ready for some success and for a motor to last a bit longer than the last two built motors
