  1. Your install looks really clean. Which parts did you use? What was the monitor housing you used? And which stock non nav bezel part did you use?
  2. Looks like this link is broken. Was that bezel the same one as this one? AvoJDM How long did it take for it to arrive? I got a Gen 1 Nexus 7 off of Craigslist for $100, so I'm ready to try this!
  3. Nice! I've always been looking for a decent HU that runs Android. Looking forward to seeing your video review. EDIT: Did you get the steering wheel controls working with this? Wondering if it's even worth trying.
  4. #1) Hankook Ventus V12 225/40/18 on stock Spec.B wheels. Can't remember now. Car has 86k, stockers lasted about 22k, and Sumitomos must have been on for maybe 15k. So probably close to 50,000 miles on them. #2) San Diego, CA #3) Mostly commute, with some spirited days from time to time. #4) 80% highway, 20% city #5) Stock RE050A, Sumitomo HTR Z III (225/40/18) #6) I had the stock tires for a hair over 20k, then replaced them with the Sumitomos which I liked, until I kept having to replace tires for getting bumps (driving in Tijuana and hitting potholes). Discount Tire doesn't usually carry them so having to wait for them to replace got a little old. The V12s have softer sidewalls so their handling feels a little squishy, but they grab on well when pushed. I haven't noticed any noise change, but I usually have the music on and my exhaust is louder than any road noise (I have an SPT exhaust, so it's not that loud). I'm very happy with their wear for sporty tires. I now have a bump on one of the V12s and it's time to replace them all. Discount Tire doesn't seem to carry 225/40/18 anymore, I can't find them in San Diego today. I have used their hazard insurance with all my tires and it worked great when I got bumps and the tires were new, but as the tires wear and there comes a point when all should be replaced, not sure if the insurance is worth it.
  5. Today, after 4 years of only using a Parrot kit to play my music from my phone through my stereo, I decided I'm tired of not having a modern system in my car. When searching for an Android tablet option, I found this thread. Glad to see someone already had the idea! I am also worried about the above. It's not like I use this all the time, but losing the functionality completely would suck. Are these functions performed by the OEM screen? I'd also be a little worried about returning to stock if I were to sell the car, but as of right now, I never want to sell it. We would also lose the temperature display on the NAV screen, and since we don't have a separate display for it, it would be gone. I would be able to display temperature in Celsius though (albeit from an app), something I hate not being able to change on my NAV screen To those using the gestures for controls, you can look into PIE. I've used it on some PAC roms on my Nexus 4 and it's a pretty cool way to manage the menu and other options. I also use Nova launcher which allows some gestures that could emulate some of the things like app drawer, home, etc. I'll have to go back and read the thread in more detail, but the Nexus 7 installs look pretty good! Is anyone using an OBDII app to display some car settings? Are you able to do MPG calculations or have a trip computer? Does anyone use voice commands on their tablet install? Is the microphone able to pick up on your voice?
  6. I called them, made an appointment and was in and out in 30 minutes. I got an alignment report and it was $90 for the whole thing. I'd say it's pretty good.
  7. Nice! They are only a couple of blocks from work. I will check them out. Thanks!
  8. Looks like I need an alignment. Both passenger side tires are wearing on the inside. Can anyone recommend a good alignment shop in San Diego? Preferably south of the 56. Thanks!
  9. Duh of course, I'll definitely work with Mike. We actually did all that when he did the 30k service on the car, didn't help. Jose also tried many things to no avail. I have had this squeaking since the car was new. "Normal" according to Subaru.
  10. Hey guys, I've been putting up with my squeaky brakes for far too long. I am officially over them and will do whatever is needed to get them to stop squeaking. I apparently have plenty left on my front pads and half way on the rears. Are there any respectable shops in San Diego or within a 100 mile radius that can do a good job? Or, can anyone recommend a replacement/upgrade that will make me happy? I'm still on stock wheels, not planning on replacing those at the moment. Is there anything decent that will still allow me to use the stock wheels? If not, is it worth going all the way and get new wheels to fit better brakes? Thanks!
  11. Those are the same part numbers sirsimon used on his car: And his after pictures look good! Can't wait to see your results as well.
  12. According to the PDF Spec sheet for the 3.0R, the radio is just "CD Radio" and there is no mention of anything else. The 2.5gt spec sheet mentions an "Original Subaru radio for 6 discs" but that's it. It could be that the spec sheets are not very well made, or the pictures are from another LHD market or these Legacies have an HU that looks like a McIntosh (maybe it's just black?)
  13. Hey Reza. I am currently in the process of getting prices and figuring out good dealers to go to to purchase a 2008 Legacy Spec B. So far I've received good prices from 3 dealers (irvine, shaver and south coast) for about $30,886 with spoiler, home link mirror and arm rest extension. In a thread in the forum someone recommended I contact you to see if you could offer any tips or suggestions.

    Thanks!!
