  1. You will have to mod the hangers on the mufflers or try some longer hangers to lower the tips below the bumper. I installed 08 LGT mufflers on my OBXT. I had Midas bend the mufflers hangers to let the tips sit one inch below the bumper. Note: I ordered XL rubber hangers and there is not enough room for them. Had to go the Midas route.
  2. Welcome badjaxns This is the place for bad OBs. Check out my profile and pics of my OBXT for some ideas.
  3. I soaked mine with Liquid Wrench. I then put Vice grips on the top of the bolt and used a socket on the bottom. It broke loose and came of with a little muscle. Make sure you do not drop a washer down into your exhaust or it will get shot back into your muffler. You will have to remove the muffler to get it out.
  4. They are 08 Legacy GT cans. I painted the back of them Flat Black like the OEM STI muffler. I also had a muffler shop heat and bend the hangers down. ($20) This let the mufflers hang one inch below the bumper. I then added Stage One Hogzaust to let the sound out. And it sounds great but not overpowering.
  5. What is great about the Hogzaust is that you can get as much sound as you want for cheap. And it is totally reversible without keeping a muffler in your garage until you sell the vehicle.
  6. I was a Graphic Designer for a Gannett newspaper until my son was born. I also Paint painting of landscapes. (they sell pretty good depending on the economy) My wife works for a financial company as a research analyst. I will say I would rather not have two car payments, but we got such deals on these cars that I could not pass them up. I should be putting the money in a college fund. I bought the WRX with bad coil pacs and an oil leak that turned out to be a split crush washer on the pan. All fixed and better after a day at the dealer. The wagon had a very overly complaining owner and the dealer said it had a lot of issues. They bought the car back from the owner and put him in an LL Bean with an auto trans. I have not found one issue yet. I think it was changing gears all the time.
  7. Kind of. She drives an 04 WRX that has all the STI exterior goodies except the tail. And the car sit on 17" Rota Tarmacs in Full Royal with Graphite. Interior has STI Titanium Shift Knob, STI Shifter trim which I had to retrofit to the console. It also has a SPT short shifter and turbo gauge and a STI cat back Muffler. I drive the OBXT because I have my toddler all day. Not to say her car does not have a baby seat in it for running around the mountains.
  8. One washer on each bolt makes it much easier for my neighbors to understand, much less my wife. Still very nice rumble.
  9. Very Funny, but Sugar makes me Road Rage and throw stuff. Not good for me or my Subaru.
  10. The healthiest Fast Food on the planet in moderation. Also the best taste right down to their Unsweetened Ice Tea. Hate to rub it in. You know, you guys could move to Asheville, NC and have Chick Fil A everyday and see plenty of Subarus, at least as many as in Colorado. No Kidding.
  11. Ok, I finally got around to installing 08 LGT mufflers on my OBXT. I then installed Hogzaust Stage 2. It sounds so sweet now. Thank you for your idea I greatly appreciate it and the money it saved me will go towards Ice Tea and Chik Fil A. I did try to drop the exhaust with Xlong Hangers to no avail. They were lose and to bulky for the fit. I guess I will have to hunt for some stockers a little longer to drop it an inch.
  12. Hey, so your a Creative Director, that's awesome. I am a retired Graphic Designer / Art Director. I stay at home with my toddler son now and paint landscape paintings. Yes, retired very early.
