you will be potentially blinding oncoming traffic, hopefully who dont get in any trouble with the local law men or cause any crashes
ebay Germany is a good source to look for these headlights. Also the leveling maybe be an issue. If your car doesn't have the automatic leveling sensors or manual leveling it will be a pain to setup right
-
so you are using RHD headlights? Is it easy to flip the beam patterns to make the LHD friendly?
-
They did not. He has a genuine S402 grill though

sarcasm was lost in writing it seems! Im not a fan of putting other model badges on cars. Each to their own
Where do you guys source the headlights from?

I still need to get a USDM scoop and some minor under hood hardware.
I didnt know they did an s402 outback!

There was a guy in Finland that was running about 400bhp on his before the engine died again

make triangle shaped cuts where the lip should bend.
Yep i got it fitted eventually, triangle cuts really help a lot, ill get it fitted up to the car tomorrow. It really finishes off the STI lip well. I just hope it holds up over the ramps and inclines
-
I cannot figure out these diagrams. Do I only need to cut the ends or make diagonal cuts where it bends at the corners?

5.2 shows some weird triangle shapes!

Sizing it up and its too long so I guess you need to cut it to length going to be difficult to get a nice clean edge when cutting it
-
There's small push clips around the bottom of the lip. Similar to the ones that hold hood liner up.

I got my rubber lip today from Japanparts, not the quality of product i was expecting for a genuine STI part, looks like some rubber trim you could find in your local hardware store!
-
How does the rubber under lip attach to the sti lip?
-
Somebody buy those conversion kits!
Do you ever see any of the front skirt extension for the spec b facelift bumper? I can't find the part number for it.

I would say that and sti lip would look good. If they can both be used together.
-
Ah OK so its a 5th generation model. I have no idea about them but I think you would have to swap to a European unit that might have your local maps etc. It might be a lot of work and cash to get it working.
-
Not possible it's a Japanese domestic market only car. Only made for them guys. Which parts do u need in English? Picture speaks a thousand words
-
Whats up with the texture of the new parts? Do they just need a polish or is that not the final paint coat
They need to be painted, fenders only have transport primer and bumper is just black plastic
-
I will stick the sti lip on tomorrow after work, i tried to do it at home on ramps but it is too low with the lip on so i'll need to stick it on the car lift to make life easier

mine is post-facelift JDM
Oh the confusion! I just don't want to order them through the dealer as if they are wrong they will not take them back! I thought there was only one facelift liner available.
My current prefacelift ones need replacing anyway as they are definitely showing their age at this point!
-
Do you have the EDM part number as the liners i have are the prefacelift jdm/edm ones. I just want to make sure the ones in opposedforces are correct
-
Does anyone know the part number for the front wheels arch liners when converting to the 06-08 jdm 2.0GT spec B bumper?
-
the color is a bit off

OK so I was messing around with the headlights today to see if I can get them powered up of the wiring that is already there and I'm glad to say that the 07-09 uk xenon headlight with built in washer jets is plug and play into the pre facelift jdm gt wiring.
The manual levellers also work fine so no need for me to go messing around with sourcing the auto leveller sensors off the suspension control arms.
Few pics:

Also ordered a subaru honeycombe grille from Japan as I couldn't find any over here and Subaru dealer wanted mega money for it! I should have the wings and bumper this week and the passenger side headlight should turn up. Then it will be time for test fitting to see what's missing and if this all goes together easily!
Fog lights and Sti front lip are the only outstanding items currently but not essential to the conversion so I'll get them as funds allow. Ill post up a full list of parts needed when I'm done for anyone that's interested
-
Here's another left headlight that you could use: http://page3.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c495652401
Thanks, but i found another one locally during the week and ordered that. Ones less problem to worry about!
-
the headlights come in one unit even though they have part numbers for the pieces they are only sold in one unit.
False.
And I'll prove u wrong in the morning when I'm sober and have a valid link to the parts I'm talking about
