  1. Yeah, those last laps were great. Bottas did a hell of a job keeping Vettel behind him for several laps, especially at the restart, with his tires so old and shot. Watching him wiggle exiting the turn on acceleration b4 Vettel got him, I knew the game was up. At first I questioned if Bottas was told to move over for Hammy, but it seemed that Lewis did a better job nursing his tires so that pass was inevitable, as proven by Kimi's pass soon thereafter.

I do question why Kimi's 10sec penalty was bigger than Vettel's 5 sec at Austria. Vettel's contact seemed worse than Kimi's. A little consistency would be nice, but I do like that now the drivers can take the penalty at a regular pit stop rather than pit separately for the penalty. Makes more sense.

Penalty makes sense if you consider that Kimi didn’t lose position, but Vettel did — hence a 10 sec for Kimi vs 5 sec for Vettel.

I thought it was a first lap racing incident.

  2. I suspect that Montreal is pretty messed up during the Formula 1 weekend and that you probably should look at other things to look at on the way there.

If you go by car, look for some places to make a detour to on the way instead. Depending on time - Niagara Falls, Mount Washington in NH, Old Sturbridge Village in MA and things like that.

But of course - this is very late for tips/ideas.

    You’re kidding right?

The entire city turns into party central for the F1. Streets are closed to have car displays (f1 and supercars), the track is open Thursday for a paddock open house, and much more.

That way we don't waste our time coming to a thread to see that no new vanity plate pix have been added...

  4. Not necessarily. The 05-09 Legacy GT/Outback XT use a push style pressure plate and throwout bearing, fork, and slave cyl. The WRX clutch that is referred to in the NASIOC thread refers to the fact that 02-07 WRX 5spds use a pull style clutch that is the same as what the 04+ 6spds use.

If you want to run a 5spd clutch and flywheel on your 6spd setup you would need to find a pull style pressure plate and flywheel, in which case its then better just to find a 6spd clutch/PP/fly.

Yes, but if you have a fresh clutch and 06+WRX FW then you may as well reuse them.
