  1. Why? Run fmic with jdm front end... I may have two 08/09 jdm fenders up for grabs
  2. There's an A-C jdm bumper for sale on hkc-speed.com The rest japanparts... for A-C, you reuse fenders hood and lights if I am not mistaken... Underdog?
  3. Center console can be done with patience and around $800... the range is because a lot of the parts come from a junkyard over in Israel. You often get damaged/cracked parts. I had to basically build two consoles to get one that was free of ANY defect. That cost me a little over 1K. If you are willing to do some repair work, epoxy, sand etc. you can do it for much less. It's a crap shoot. I also built a console for Shtbxr22 in exchange for some engine work... he took his further by painting his radio face etc. I really like how his turned out as well. Scaceys did his pretty much on his own.... SCACEYS is VERY unique as he had to swap his '05 console pieces over to an '08 before he could swap to the EDM/JDM units. He also had to overcome the challenge of figuring out the AT shifter assembly.... he did a great job. If anyone wants details and a more specific breakdown, let me know. I'll be happy to talk on the phone. If you need/want the illuminated cup holders as well, that's extra. GOtta get the JDM piece from japanparts and then dissect it, and install in the EDM console cup holder. Those with heated seats, you gotta cut your own window for the switch (i have the top panel with this done already if anyone is serious they can have it for cheap). Custom wiring is required (purple/black for dimmer switch) and you must mount the console differently in the rear. I made a false bottom on mine and made a template. I have this template for others if they want to use it. Also, I don't know How SCACEYS mounted his. Shaun

  5. That was me! No problem bud, just keep me posted ok?! Shaun
  6. Subaru offers two different diameter pistons, A and B... the bores in a subaru engine are not all the same; they come in different configurations. For example an AAA block is a block where all cylinders are the same size, AND are the smaller of the two different diameters. Some blocks are BBB (same deal). What people tend to avoid is the ABAB blocks - etc. I'm not sure if there's an ABBA AAAB etc. however. The engine I'm building now is ABAB... the one in my car now is an AAAA. I hope that helps!
  7. BTAero or Japanparts.com... Shipping is not expensive if you buy the STI one from them... the part is expensive. Shaun
  8. It is a lot of money for just the kit... and then there's the HU. The one I would be happy with is 1k+.... I'd rather hold off until they get the android powered HUs more advanced. Then, maybe I'd consider it. If my car were white, I'd totally go chrome. However, since most of all of it is (or was ) black then I feel it clashes. It's only plasti-dip so I could always peel it off.
  9. I have thought about it... but... every time one comes available on the forums, it's gone in 5 minutes. Also, I had my stock face painted OBP...
  10. It occurred to me that I do not have my JDM stuff in one post to reference in the future. I'll go ahead and do this and then start my own thread when I get closer to paint... That was me who you met... Eric (SHTBXR22) and I are the first to do the EDM center console (I built both). Eric has a silver specB, Mine is a black '08 and SCACEYS is almost finished with his automatic console in his '05. So, there are only three of us - mine is the only black car http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u395/Frontman81/NightConsole.jpghttp://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/s720x720/181411_10150876171864262_692369258_n.jpg I've also completed the rear swap... its as close to S402 as I'm going to get. There IS another person on this forum who has completed an entire swap (minus the center console) but that person shall stay anonymous. If you want to talk, you can call me nine seven eight - nine zero two-five nine seven one. http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u395/Frontman81/2012-08-23_15-31-00_848.jpg Thanks for the good word!!!
  11. Famaya - I was surprised to learn that the honeycomb is also at a downward angle so the FMIC is not easily seen through the grille! I love that. Also, I've got the foglight covers (with matching honeycomb) coming from Japan. If I decide to keep this particular JDM swap when I'm done, I'm going to plasti-dip the chrome around the grille. Shaun
  12. Thanks again guys! Underdog, you're name is all over this one... without you, this would not have happened for me ANYTIME in the near future.
  13. OK... so I figured out what FMIC will work with the D-F JDM SpecB/S402 front end... The RacerX fits perfectly, minus the beam. This had me scratching my head because the other option would be the FMS/SSAuto/TXS setup (which I just had Powder Coated; go figure) but it will not fit without significant trimming of the bumper. Theres absolutely no way in hell that I am going to trim the JDM bumper. None. I did find that that the BEAM for the FMS/SSAuto/TXS setup DOES fit under the JDM bumper.... so... looks like I'll be running the FMS Beam and RacerX FMIC! Also, the EDM fenders (I assume Jdm as well) are wider than USDM... I'd say by about 1/4 inch! THAT was a nice little surprise! http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u395/Frontman81/2012-09-08_15-13-05_418.jpg
  14. Leke - I was JUST formulating an email to you with some new findings! I had to post a bunch of stuff for sale to pay for headlights hahah!
  15. Don't kick youself! Feel like you did a bit of good for the community... JDM rear matched to a JDM front!
  16. Indeed! Thanks Underdog!! http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u395/Frontman81/2012-09-03_15-31-08_475.jpg and... http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u395/Frontman81/2012-09-03_14-57-17_190.jpg
  17. Underdog, you wouldn't by chance want to part with that D-F front end would you? I've since shortened the prodrives as much as they can go... I have the jdm rear CF diffuser and with that held up to the car, the tips are perfect! I have the OEM fenders currently and based on the cost of the aftermarket ones, I'll plan to stick with them lol. The rear bumper itself was sourced on lgt.com and hardware, brackets etc.from Japan parts. Tall lights are EDM... from Israel. Thanks for the kudos!
  18. Now it's time to start looking for JDM/EDM/AUSDM spec B front end! I already have fenders... =)
  19. Finished my JDM rear swap on my '08! http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/c0.0.403.403/p403x403/394286_10151058260644262_2083525747_n.jpg And... http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u395/Frontman81/2012-08-23_15-31-00_848.jpg

  21. Better Pictures now that project is complete: http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/181411_10150876171864262_788704261_10016836_692369258_n.jpg
  22. Welp, looks like parts dried up. My source for the consoles has indicated that they have no more inventory until further notice. There is another person on the forum here that is 1/2 way through the same conversion and is now stuck in limbo. He happens to use the same source as I did for mine and Shtbxr22 so I'd rather him be able to finish his project before I reveal the source of the parts. I hope everybody understands. To do the swap, plan on at least $600 - $800 and custom LED wiring. I am 1/3 the way through a writeup on how to do everything with part numbers and sources for parts. I plan to complete this for everybody as soon as possible. Shaun
