  1. Well - our Shiba is sending signals that he's ready to go. He sleeps like an old man, struggles with every function there is, and just looks at us with tired eyes that seem to beg, "please let me go". We've done everything humanely possible to keep him healthy and well, but I think the time has come to do everything we can to finally let him sleep, uninterrupted, in his final resting place.

This video was helpful in reaching our decision for him.

    ...

Looking for plans to build his internment box. Will be hard to do this after nearly 17 years. What a great run this guy has had.

We'll get you there soon buddy. You've earned it.

SBT, I'm just now reading your post from last month... Sorry to read about your Shiba :( I can't imagine how I'd feel in your shoes, but I know that it's something immensely difficult. Keep the great memories alive.

  2. Just got back home. The steering feels wonderful. Smooth and solid. The turning ratio takes a bit to get used to. I did a few things along with the steering rack so your mileage may vary.

    - '15 STi Steering rack (purchased a used rack off eBay for $299)

    - STi steering joint

    - Whiteline Steering bushing kit

    - Whiteline roll center kit

I do have the VDC light on. Not sure what is causing it to light up. I did pull off my steering wheel to help center the rack, and I also applied a new etune. I'll have to check with the tuner to see if there is a setting that is causing it to light up.

  3. My car is on the road now with a 2015 STi steering rack. I haven't put the car through the paces yet. ABS and VDC light turned on after sitting for a few months at home. ABS is now off after doing a lap around the block, but VDC light stays light. I don't think this has anything to do with the new steering rack. It only was an issue between now and a month ago and what happened between then is the battery died.

The only thing left I need to get done to finish the steering rack installed is to get an alignment done and getting the steering wheel straightened.

For the life of me I've had the hardest time centering the steering wheel when attaching it to the u-joint. It's off by a notch and I struggled for a few hours removing it and re-inserting it but I can't seem to get it on the right notch.

I think I might just take it into a shop and have them straighten the wheel during the alignment... or would it be as simple as me unmounting the steering wheel and reinstalling it to correct the angle?

  4. So for those looking to do this and have the VDC question... I've been reading up on iwsti. from what I've read so far (I've only gotten to page 30 so far) VDC is not an issue. I suggest you read as well and see if this is something you want to do. There are about 76 pages. There are a few other threads on iwsti and nasioc on this too.

  5. 10 months old... IMO, let them sleep. The little one is growing and probably needs quite a few nappy naps during the day. Baby life is probably really boring too with nothing to do but roll around on your back, crawl, and eat. If you think it's a problem, consult the pediatrician.
