From a fellow audiophille, this link may to be of someones interest:
http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi
There is a lot of misconception out there about "sound dampaner"
This link should clear up a few things
This was already linked on page 2 and discussed numerous times since then. READ. This thread is only ten pages.

Please remove me as well.

Nice write up! What do you think the total weight added was?
-
Keep in mind going to this extreme will add a lot of weight. I found in my LGT sedan that a lot of the noise was still coming from the windows and the natural (lack of) aerodynamics in the body design. Although dynamat xtreme on the trunk, doors and floors helped with sound quality immensely.
You should really try that chevron application and let us all know how it works. Although, if you haven't heard/rode in a full job, like the one you're talking about attempting, then there's nothing to compare to really.

Hey guess what, MoCo sucks!

What SubieChick said...moved from DC a few months ago. If I could change my name I would
Ah, delayed response...and BS. I'm sure you're a nice guy and I normally would let this go given the time lapse, but since you're a new member this statement just likely isn't true. You got the car used this spring, joined the forum, made a name, and your second post on 5/5/2010 says, "Recently picked it up and I'm lovin' it, especially the 6. I reside right outside of DC." Sooooooo really you just claimed DC, albeit not in DC, but rather NoVA, which is the bridge & tunnel "DC" crowd (that takes all our damn residential parking!).
Sorry, just gotta call this out. I'm kind of being a dick, I know and I apologize, but really Clifton, etc. is nothing like the actual district.
Hey I don't even own a GT anymore so you have plenty of ammo. lol totaled in December flame away.

Harry, I'm in Finance and I'm not sure you should ever tell someone, "Any money you invest will always have a return with little to no loss." Diversifying lowers your risk beta, it never eliminates it.

Reduces, yes.

hey ummm, "DCspecB" -- Centreville/Clifton, Virginia is not DC...

Sorry Town, Ken is the greatest billiards player I ever seen. And I must say a great coach for billiards as well. So yes, he IS the lord of the pool table. He can both teach and play. Most people can only play.
He taught me a ton, and I was actually making balls in the pockets! And setting up for shots!
Interesting. So teaching a little shape and running a few balls seems to go a long way w this crowd. Where are Ken and Mr_please_buy_my_rims!_Luv on this...hmmm? I think either one should be able to show you the light
-
wait wait, what...Ken is the lord of the table around here??

^Probably
go to home depot get a roll of ice and water mat for roofing 400sqft or something like that for 100 bucks you can do 6 cars with it and still have some left only downfall is it smells a bit like tar for a few days. i used it in my old blazer running 4 12's and had almost no odd noise rattle outside.Do not do this.

I think the 90% effective figure is subjective and untested, but I wouldn't be surprised to see that method permit positive results for you. I put a chevron inside my dented fender, as opposed to wasting sheets of dynamat on full coverage prior to getting the damage repaired, and it lessened vibration I was hearing in the exposed piece. Not sure it's as good as a skin-layer (or like 7, as above), but it will help some.

I'm familiar with Elemental Designs. They're a small outfit, and they would be the exception, not the rule. CEA2006 attempts to address this, but I still see many amps rated at 14.4V.
I think the new JL HD amps can run lower as well and still retain the same output. There's a switch for low/high voltage.
Either way, why does this thread have a sticky?

Moving this heere from the other thread, (http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2361008#post2361008).
Oh nice, Arlington! Can I see this in action before buying? You can see it in action at www.gtboostgauge.comChoose GTBoost16 or GTBoost20 then click "learn more"
Choose gallery and click "in action" then you can see video of it in action.
I meant see the final product running in person since we live within miles of each other...but that's cool. The vid is OK. Something showing normal driving conditions would be nice, under hard acceleration and a standard commute.
Also, I have a '08 GT.
Can you please explain better what the difference between the GTBoost20 and the digital is? What do the 2005-2006 models allow for that the '07+ do not?
I understand that I only have a clock there now, but does this now replace the oem display to show more?
Would this work in an ashtray relocation?
Any further clarification would be much appreciated. I like the stealth alternative to a gauge cluster or pod setup. Great idea.
If you wanna mess around with a local 08's information panel or vid operation with a manual transmission, I'd be happy to provide a test vehicle.

Can you share what the wire colors are for your 08? Thanks!
-
bump. A couple of us have asked about '08's for this mod because apparently the wires are colored differently.
Any successful '08 mods? Share the details if it worked for you - Thanks!

I pulled the plug on my 08 legacy 2.5i last night. While it did disable the DRL it also disabled the high beam indicator on my dashboard. This isn't a huge deal to me but if anyone knows what wires to pull from that plug in order to stop only the DRL I would like to do that and still maintain my dashboard function. Thanks.
Same thing happened to my '08 GT. I just live with it.
Eventually, I may try the '07 mod... I'm just lazy and can usually tell when my high beams are on.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it tonight.
