  1. The major takeaway is -- unless you're trying to improve your stereo response, insulating a Subaru to reduce road noise has little to no effect. You just wasted money and added significant weight to your hood. If you want a quiet car, I'd go buy something else.
  2. This was already linked on page 2 and discussed numerous times since then. READ. This thread is only ten pages.
  3. Nice write up! What do you think the total weight added was?
  4. Keep in mind going to this extreme will add a lot of weight. I found in my LGT sedan that a lot of the noise was still coming from the windows and the natural (lack of) aerodynamics in the body design. Although dynamat xtreme on the trunk, doors and floors helped with sound quality immensely. You should really try that chevron application and let us all know how it works. Although, if you haven't heard/rode in a full job, like the one you're talking about attempting, then there's nothing to compare to really.
  5. Ah, delayed response...and BS. I'm sure you're a nice guy and I normally would let this go given the time lapse, but since you're a new member this statement just likely isn't true. You got the car used this spring, joined the forum, made a name, and your second post on 5/5/2010 says, "Recently picked it up and I'm lovin' it, especially the 6. I reside right outside of DC." Sooooooo really you just claimed DC, albeit not in DC, but rather NoVA, which is the bridge & tunnel "DC" crowd (that takes all our damn residential parking!). Sorry, just gotta call this out. I'm kind of being a dick, I know and I apologize, but really Clifton, etc. is nothing like the actual district. Hey I don't even own a GT anymore so you have plenty of ammo. lol totaled in December flame away.
  6. Harry, I'm in Finance and I'm not sure you should ever tell someone, "Any money you invest will always have a return with little to no loss." Diversifying lowers your risk beta, it never eliminates it.
  7. hey ummm, "DCspecB" -- Centreville/Clifton, Virginia is not DC...
  8. Wait a second...did you just use the term "crap-o-la"
  9. Interesting. So teaching a little shape and running a few balls seems to go a long way w this crowd. Where are Ken and Mr_please_buy_my_rims!_Luv on this...hmmm? I think either one should be able to show you the light
