  1. Fixed them all - uploaded right to the thread. No more shenanigans! Fixed #21 too :dm:

I just mounted mine to any flat surface I could find. My low's mounted underneath the edge of the fender panels. Forget where my highs are mounted. I think one is on the washer fluid box, and the other is just on part of the frame. Just used 3M VHB tape.

  2. Apologies for bumping up this old post, but it looks like the pics aren't working again. Only the first pic shows up for me.

Fixed again. Damn Mark Zuckerberg. Its strange that this is the only forum that my pics disappear from. And the only post for that matter.

  3. Since I installed the board in the middle of winter, I never took the time to mount the switch anywhere.... it was just kinda hangin out the side of the middle console at the carpet. Today was a fairly nice day so I took a few minutes to mount it.

I had to cut the spade connectors off of the wires and solder them directly to the switch because of the tight location, but I like it because it looks OEM. The aux-in cable is still just resting between the passenger seat and the console for now.

  4. Yes this is typical. But why don't you put your head unit on fm radio instead of playing discs?

hmmm.... guess I should have either kept up with this thread more, or followed instructions a little better

for whatever reason, I though it only worked on cd function. never bothered to try it on fm.

    my hero! :p

  5. So glad I finally spent the money on the kit! Took me about 2 hours to install, start to finish. Didn't mount the switch yet though... havent decided where I want it (and it was getting dark and cold).

Did notice that whenever the disc changer switches discs, the music to the aux-in cuts out for a few seconds. Its definitely not a big deal, and I'm guessing this is typical?

Anyway, this is a great mod... Should have done this sooner!

  6. If you have the Automatic AC/heat then your kinda stuck with a factory radio since the AC and the radio are intagrated. Manual AC guys have lots of options

thats not entirely true anymore, but it is a lot more difficult than buying and installing one of the aux in options. from what i've been reading, the advantages of this aux-in solution are that you don't need a "silent cd" and the GLI is built in.

  7. Ok so I must say that I enjoyed the hogzaust on my 2.5i!!!

Unfortunately I can't say the same for my 3.0R. Its a completely different sound! I put the washers on last night (2 on each bolt) and it just sounds weird. It vaguely reminds me of a porsche wound out, but not quite. I think I may have to go full CBE to get any decent sound out of the motor.

  8. its simple, but its not plug and play... part of it has to do with the H3 bulb style and how it connects to the plug harness. also, theres just not enough room for all the wires inside of the foglight housing, as there was with the headlights.
  9. haha like i said, it was a great write-up, but when i first looked at it i was a little overwhelmed

if i hadn't had the HID's sitting in front of me, I probably wouldn't have gone forward with the mod, but now i know how easy it was :)
