Fixed them all - uploaded right to the thread. No more shenanigans! Fixed #21 too
I just mounted mine to any flat surface I could find. My low's mounted underneath the edge of the fender panels. Forget where my highs are mounted. I think one is on the washer fluid box, and the other is just on part of the frame. Just used 3M VHB tape.

Apologies for bumping up this old post, but it looks like the pics aren't working again. Only the first pic shows up for me.
Fixed again. Damn Mark Zuckerberg. Its strange that this is the only forum that my pics disappear from. And the only post for that matter.

I wouldn't think it will cause any problems, other than not having your climate controls.

My base rack system is Yakima, with a Lift Ticket snowboard rack for the winter. This is my summer setup for camping, which is a generic cargo basket offset to one side, and a Yakima Viper bike rack on the other side.
All the Yakima stuff gets locked with the SKS locks. Never really worried about the cheapo cargo basket.

Strange... wasnt even showing broken images. Fixed it again!

Since I installed the board in the middle of winter, I never took the time to mount the switch anywhere.... it was just kinda hangin out the side of the middle console at the carpet. Today was a fairly nice day so I took a few minutes to mount it.

I had to cut the spade connectors off of the wires and solder them directly to the switch because of the tight location, but I like it because it looks OEM. The aux-in cable is still just resting between the passenger seat and the console for now.

Yes this is typical. But why don't you put your head unit on fm radio instead of playing discs?
hmmm.... guess I should have either kept up with this thread more, or followed instructions a little better
for whatever reason, I though it only worked on cd function. never bothered to try it on fm.
my hero!

So glad I finally spent the money on the kit! Took me about 2 hours to install, start to finish. Didn't mount the switch yet though... havent decided where I want it (and it was getting dark and cold).
Did notice that whenever the disc changer switches discs, the music to the aux-in cuts out for a few seconds. Its definitely not a big deal, and I'm guessing this is typical?
Anyway, this is a great mod... Should have done this sooner!

the kit arrived today!! too bad its been ridiculously cold here lately
thanks again!

Finally ordered mine today! Cant wait to get it installed!

hey could you post your pictures of your process up again?
Thats really strange that the pics just disappeared! Anyway, check out the first post again... I re-inserted them.

If you have the Automatic AC/heat then your kinda stuck with a factory radio since the AC and the radio are intagrated. Manual AC guys have lots of options
thats not entirely true anymore, but it is a lot more difficult than buying and installing one of the aux in options. from what i've been reading, the advantages of this aux-in solution are that you don't need a "silent cd" and the GLI is built in.

I'm looking at ordering a kit next friday if you have more!

yeah mine were the same way... im 99% positive they hadnt been touched since 2005. i sprayed wd-40 on and let it soak in for a few minutes, then used a breaker bar.

Probably already asked in this thread but 159 pages was a little much to go through them all...if I did this to an H6 would I get that boxer growl or is that pretty much limited the 4cyl setups?
made mine sound reminiscent of a porsche its a smoother sound than what the 4 cyl's are hearing. its interesting to say the least!

Last night I took the air box resonator off and it sounds a little better. I'd love to get UEL headers but i dont think anyone makes them.

Ok so I must say that I enjoyed the hogzaust on my 2.5i!!!
Unfortunately I can't say the same for my 3.0R. Its a completely different sound! I put the washers on last night (2 on each bolt) and it just sounds weird. It vaguely reminds me of a porsche wound out, but not quite. I think I may have to go full CBE to get any decent sound out of the motor.

We def dont want to bother the high and mighty LGT owners with questions about these specific topics.
I'm not even sure if we're permitted to mention teh "§þé©-ß"

its simple, but its not plug and play... part of it has to do with the H3 bulb style and how it connects to the plug harness. also, theres just not enough room for all the wires inside of the foglight housing, as there was with the headlights.

haha like i said, it was a great write-up, but when i first looked at it i was a little overwhelmed
if i hadn't had the HID's sitting in front of me, I probably wouldn't have gone forward with the mod, but now i know how easy it was
-
nice write-up! thanks katalyst!

I love that the fogs match the low's perfectly!!

DIY Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement Walk-through w/.pdf

Great walkthrough!
Had a rear wheel bearing replaced under the 100k warranty about 45k ago. Now my other side has started humming. I'm at 144k so I can't say I'm surprised.
Thank you SBT and all the other commenters!
