  1. Link doesn’t make anything specially for the LGT but rather WRX/STI. We will need to find similarities in ecu pin outs to use link ecu.

Link is more expensive but no more tricking the ecu. I hate doing it with my STI and no more emissions or OBDII things. Just things that work. Stand-alone require the tuner to make the car idle and such. I believe there are auto learn features but it’ll be a solid alternative. There are other types of stand-alone that replace the ECU rather than piggy backing onto and needing to trick the ecu to do what we want with it.

My LGT has a IAG block with LGT heads with upgraded injectors and turbo. Many tuners have tried but the idle isn’t right and when the car hasn’t ran for a little while it’s gets wonky. Totally the AP3 tune. Even on OS I’ve had similar issues.

  2. I own an AP3 right now for my LGT but been thinking about a standalone tuning option. My bugeye has a Link ECU. I want something similar. I have tried open source and it just isn't as good as the AP3 until cobb decided to do all of this. I'm hopeful that the OS community will get back its knowledgeable people that cobb took away now that things are changing. I just hate tricking the ECU into doing things
  3. I just recently installed a new rack with P/N 34110VA121 and it went in perfectly. Used the thinner jam nuts and didn't have to trim any threads (using the WL bump-steer tie-rod ends). Alignment on my setup was no issue for the alignment shop (-1.2° camber). Only thing I can guess/hope is they revised it to fix the known issue of these leaking relatively quickly near the input shaft

What thinner jam nuts did you use. I plan to do this on my 2005 LGT. steering rack is creaking and needs replacement.

  4. BUMP from the dead. I'm not looking into this as CSF site and others like RSD doesn't show 4th gen legacy fitment.

I'm looking at either: 7042/7042O or 7028/7028O (O = Built in oil cooler). I would go more likely with the regular 7042 BUT i cannot confirm fitment. The ONLY site that I was able to show the legacy being able to use it is limitlessmotorsports.ca in Canada.

Called CSF customer service today and the lady on the phone said to call a dealer since they don't have any technicians available.

  5. bwahahaha. noise number 2... I LOL'd.

If you have the stock head unit, i believe it has a multi disc changer in it? I could be wrong. We had that issue and I think its the radio checking what discs are in the player. We changed out to an aftermarket head unit with the navi kit for a double din screen and haven't heard it since. This was a few years ago. found this thread while looking for something else. Had to add my comment about the OPs accurate description of noise #2 as well.

  6. Sorry if this has been answered prior but couldn’t find it.

My JDM Impreza has a way to remove this valve all together and removing the blue T from the system by plumbing the solenoid straight to the fuel rail pipe under the intake and the other connection at the solenoid going straight to the intake manifold. I also don’t think I can similarly adapt this. The LGT is different.

Is there a way to do this on the LGT? I’d really like to simplify my vacuum lines and get rid of things I don’t need.

    Thanks in advance!

  7. Hi guys,

I asked this question on NASIOC and SubaruOutback.org but not much luck. Probably Outback guys that have ATS brakes are lurking in here instead?

I got the parts for installing ATS front and WRX red calipers rear on my 2009 Outback 3.0R. I'm using BWC brackets. I still need to get bigger wheels as the stock 17" are not clearing the ATS clippers (they do clear the rears).

My question for my fellow Outback owners (or Legacy that share the same parts): with the increased caliper size do I need to get the master cylinder from sti to make this work properly?

Are you experience issues with the brake pedal having to travel more now to engage the brakes?

Any other issues I should be aware off (except the pad overhang)?

    Thanks a lot!

I didn’t replace the brake master or brake booster. No difference in travel from what I can tell. I have a grimmspeed MBC bracket installed.

I saw your message on NASIOC. I work a lot. Lol. Can’t always respond. 2005 LGT.

  8. Might be ghetto, but I've done it before in my other car. Weather stripping works ok, especially in a tighter spot like that.

Everything seems like it’s tighter on the right side even though I trimmed a bit for the hazard button.

I think I’ll trim under the HVAC since the plastic areas for the shifter line up under the HVAC in a certain way

  9. He got back to me after about a week. He mentioned that he's received many orders for the harness, and that he has family issues going on right now. It took about 2 days for him to ship it after I ordered the harnesses.

He got back to me in 3 days and I just completed my order. Hoping to move on quickly since i chose priority mail. Just putting this here in case anyone else needs to know he’s still active on it.

  10. This is my first post on this forum, so please excuse my ignorance when it comes to modifications or anything of the sort.

I just bought a 2005 Legacy GT Limited (USDM), and am looking to replace the head unit to a double DIN. I just emailed SVXdc, so he's yet to respond.

What size infotainment/receiver will fit in the JDM bezel? (listed here): https://avojdm.com/dual-zone-av-panel-set-h6217ag911/

Down the road, I'm also planning on installing aftermarket speakers, sub, and amp, so is there anything important I should know? Thank you.

Standard double din will work. Not true double din size as mentioned above. My soundstream VRCP-65 fits fine. Got a harness already and powers up. Just can’t move on because I don’t got the i88 yet.

  11. Yeah. Look at post 624 here: https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/s402-wrb-wagon-clone-project-259553p42.html

So you got a front end jdm nose cut shipped to Oahu?!?

yup, from Japan directly, not using that specific front end (rear bumper, side skirts, grille. bumper supports...etc. in one large box) but the one I posted in here with the half bumper lip. its a lot shorter than the USDM one so need something that'll fit the undertray area so the engine bay will stop getting so dirty.
