  1. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I couldn't find a thread about it after searching...

Is there a way to wire it so your parking lights are not on with your headlights? I'm not a fan of the big blocks of orange at night, I would prefer just the round fogs and headlights.

I'm not quite sure how you could do something like this and still have tail lights except for just removing the front parking light bulbs. But doing that might eliminate your front turn signals.

  2. Long ass thread, but anyone had issues with the Rallye+ lights he recommended?

I stuck them in perfectly good headlights and after a few months, I had a discoloration (which I believe to be melted plastic) right at the focus point of the light.

Never again. (This was a few years ago)

Maybe it is just an isolated incident but buyer beware.

I've been using the Osram Rallye 65w Ultra High Output H7 Special-Service Bulbs since September 2009 without noticing any ill effects. I need to looking into buying a new set for my wife's Hyundai Sonata.

  3. <snip>

Unfortunately I can't say the same for my 3.0R. Its a completely different sound! I put the washers on last night (2 on each bolt) and it just sounds weird. It vaguely reminds me of a Porsche wound out, but not quite.

Since they both are flat six cylinder boxer engines, it's logical that it should sound like a Porsche. Just so long as it doesn't sound like an air cooled Porsche 6 cylinder from the '60s.

  4. With modern cars, if you turn off the ignition, the fuel pump and injectors are shut off too, so you won't get raw fuel dumped into the exhaust like you could on older cars.

I did that too on occasion with my older cars. It doesn't work anymore.

But it still works great on a motorcycle with carbs. I love to do it in the Holland Tunnel, on Gooch's Garlic Run, when being followed by a group of Harley lifesavers with straight pipes. I don't know which gets their attention better, the big bang..... or the 3 feet of flame that shoots out the end of the exhaust.:icon_twis:icon_lol:

  5. Just did this in my 2005 OBW. I'm tired of spending a fortune on headlights, I'll turn them on when I need them thank you very much Subaru.

Hope I unplugged the right one. The box said DRL on a green sticker and there was a black plug right beside the white one. I pulled the white one.

Any solid word if this disables the heated wipers on the '05 model (with winter package)? If so, I'll have to re-connect the DRL plug...snows and ices a lot here and the wiper de-icers are necessary.

I did the DRL disable on my '05 LGT wagon around Thanksgiving and have been using my wiper heaters practically every day for the past two weeks with no problem.

  6. Spotted this morning at 9:05 am a GRP Legacy 2.5 GT Wagon  with DRL delete turning North on Goffle Rd by the Dunkin Doughnuts in Hawthorne, NJ.

I was the OBP 2.5 GT Wagon :wub: with DRL delete going the other way to turn onto RT-208 North.

  7. Obviously it would be only when conditions warrant using just the fog lights. All corner markers would still be on.

Besides, fog lights CAN be used as DRLs here, but I don't want to make them the DRLs, just have them shut off the DRLs when required.

I suppose I could install a DRL cutout switch and install aftermarket fog lights...

If you ground the DRLs through the Fog Lights when you turn on the Fog Lights the DRLs would lose ground and turn off. I did this on my motorcycle with my side marker lights and turn signals. Unfortunately modern car wiring with CAN data buss can make this much more difficult to do.

  8. .....

    im talking about liberty.

after they fucked me over a NUMEROUS times (because i literally used to live 2 blocks away from them, on Kinderkamek rd., so i went to them and i knew i could trust them bc i can keep checking on them every now and then).. but instead, i got my interior really scuffed up. i only had 7 miles on it!!

so i took it to richard lucas when i had problems with tcu.. and they fucked it up. yes, they replaced it under warranty, because they fried it, but they took a month and a half to fix it.

never going back to a subaru dealer again. nothing but baddies.

You should write a letter to Dan Cohen, General Sales Mgr and 'cc' Rick DeSilva, the owner of Liberty Subaru. If you keep it civil :nono::argue: and explain why you have been disappointed with your recent service experiences I'm sure they will try to make it up to you.

You will probably get a better response if you just sound very disappointed :icon_sad: that Liberty let you down than if you sound angry  that Liberty screwed up your ride. Sales are way down for car dealers so they don't want to do anything to allienate their current customer base.

Just remember if you sound too pissed off :rtfm: they may figure that you are a lost cause rather than a customer they can make happy again.

  9. Spotted today leaving the Meadowlands Sports complex after the Giants-Bengals game.

    1. BSM Legacy 2.5 GT Wagon with CT plates, roof racks, acrylic hood protector and Cannondale stickers on rear side windows.
    2. OBP Legacy 2.5 GT Sedan with NJ plates, R2 Black Chrome wheels, rear wing and badges shaved off.

    Anyone on the list?

  10. I first went to Walmart and they didn't have the size. Then to Advance Auto and they didn't have the size in stainless steel. So the closet next stop was Lowes, where I thought $6 for a bag of 20 was alot, but I didn't want to drive to Home Depot and they not have it either.

So what is the correct size stainless washer I need to buy? What are you going to do with all those left over washers?
