hopefully there will be a good set of trails we can ride on.
-
^^ do you have 2 dirtbikes, or would I have to hop on behind you and hold on for dear life?
1 dirtbike (Honda crf 250r) and 1 ATV (wifes: Honda 300ex).
-
I will find out about Campfires, I selected the 26th since that is the most peeps...
First post updated...
Can you confirm if offraod vehicles (ATV's and dirtbikes are allowed) I have a extra helmet so two of us could ride at a time. They have been collecting dust latley, because I have been so busy studying for my pharmacy board exam. Lets all hope I passed.

I am debating if I should bring my truck and my 4 wheeler or bring the legacy. What do you guys think? I could probably stuff my dirtbike in the truck as well. I am not sure if we will be at a campground that allows them.

^^^
Your 60ft is better than any of your LGT runs. That is why the times are close because the MPH is way down which indicates power.
My 60's were consistently better in the WRX and I was launching it the same as I do the legacy (4.5K with a little clutch slip). It just takes off faster, probably because the turbo spools alot quicker, since it is tiny.
It was funny because after my first run , I could tell I was going very fast across the line. I thought I was going to be in the 15's.

Took the 08 WRX to the strip tonight, pretty good time for being at 5800ft elevation.
60': 2.02
330': 5.993
1/8: 9.353 @ 73.99
1000': 12.220
1/4: 14.670 @ 92.47mph
only mods so dar are a megan racing downpipe and cobb stage 2 OTS map. I am running the stock CBE exhaust (1.9') which is probably really hurting my numbers. As soon as my SPT exhaust comes off backorder I will see what I can get.

Anybody got a recommendation for tinting?
It may not be worth the drive, but I use ABC window tinting located in denver near I-25 and evans. They do great work and pricing seem fair, $250-$300.

All you need is a downpipe, correct? Ohh but I see you have a CAI, so you will need another tune, $$. I am sure you will be in the low 12's when you hit stage 2.
Have you seen this yet?
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/hatchbacks/112_0808_2008_cobb_tuning_subaru_wrx_sti/index.html
They only got a 12.9 1/4 mile, looks like the tune really helps, or you are a much better driver than those at motor trend.
-
How do you launch? I can't seem to get my 60's below 2.1.
I am launching from 5k with a little clutch slip.
-
whoo hooo! I FINALLY RAN MY 12! In the new STI and not changing ANYTHING (other than driver mod).
12.94 @ 101 mph (my traps were low, but I'll take it anyways!)
Awesome driving, What was your 60'?

Great meet today! 9 legacy GT's all in the same place. It was nice meeting everyone.

Well atleast it is faster, only thing that concerns me is Legend's car ran a bit faster on the stock vf40 at the same track. However based upon your slip, with some better drivng your car has a 13.9xx in it as it sits.
True, however due to the lack of low end power with this tune, it is difficult to launch. It doesn't really have much until 4K, it should have more power alot sooner. It pulls great up top, just needs more torque down low.
-
Here is what I could do with the upgraded turbo (vf4018g) at bandimere speedway in colorado (elevation 5800ft)
R/T: .240
60': 2.196
330': 6.030
1/8: 9.232
1000': 11.943
1/4: 14.206
mph: 99.44
Not bad, but I am not completely satisfied. I think when I get a retune from RP I should be in the 13's. The car is much more consistent now. I ran 14.5 and 14.3 for most of my runs. Preciously with the stage 2 tune I was running 14.9 and a couple lucky 14.58's.
I did weigh my car this time: 3300lbs without me in the car. Not bad for a limited 2008 model.

Mabye next time I buy a car I will ask if I can take it home for the night, and take it to the strip and see what I can come up with. LOL!
-
C&D also uses a correction factor, which means they have some multiplier in there to make it like the car was run in perfect conditions at 0' sea level, etc..
Really? I never knew, that is crappy, just give us the straight numbers you obtained from the tests. The magazines really need to show us time slips.
-
argh!!!! So, not the LGT anymore, however the new car:
08 STI
Stock with AMR CAI
Cobb AP V2
I added a new map tonight from AMR and also tried one from PDX. I had better results from the AMR map, so thank you Rob for helping me out last minute and through the technical difficulties.
55 deg, AK Raceway Park, 70 ft sea level
+.5269 RT
1.7940 60'
5.3542 330'
7.7641 ET @ 594'
8.3061 1/8 ET
83.02 1/8 MPH
13.0370 1/4 ET
104.19 1/4 MPH
To compare with my best run ever in the LGT:
Ran on 8/15/07 55 deg (about the same temps and conditions)
+.5188 RT
1.83550 60'
5.3112 330'
7.7051 ET @ 594'
8.2362 1/8 ET
84.72 1/8 MPH
12.8650 1/4 ET
105.43 1/4 MPH
So you can see where my 4th gear shift is really hurting my #'s. However, the trap speed definitely shows the car can run 12's, now I just need to drive her there!
Great numbers, I am suprised just stage 1 will take almost a half secoond off your 1/4 mile time. Car and driver tested the 08 STI and best they could do was a 13.5.
-
I'm in. Who else? My goal is 14.39 and I'd like to get 4-6 runs in.
I will be there for sure!
My dad will be in town for my graduation, I think he might bring his stock 03 Z06 to the track. I keep telling him I can beat him. LOL
Also my brother in law and cousin also might join with a pontiac solstice GXP and mazda speed6.
If everyone show it should be a blast.
My goal is 14.3, but it sucks because i really like to have my windows down to get a good launch, and they won't let us. Maybe i need a louder exhaust.
-
Collegemt what r ur mods? I just had my 1/4 time posted. I ran a 13.9 with 1.8 60' at bandimere 13.3 seems a little fast for a stock turbo lgt up here but u never I've seen almost stock stis run low 13s up here
I meant to say 14.3. I know 13.3 is out of the queestion on the stock turbo. My mods include AP, perrin catted DP, AEM intake magnaflow CBE.
13.9, wow,what are your mods?
-
I think i need to learn how to launch, best 60 foot i could pull with my stage 2 08 LGT was a 2.1. This was at 5800feet. My best time with was a 14.5. I was kinda dissapointed, but i guess this is what elevation does. I am hoping i can get a 14.3 if i can get my 60 foot time below 2.
I am in the right lane.
-
Yeah good explanation. I am not sure what I want to do yet. I was thinking about H tein springs, but worried about the lowered ride height and rough ride in winter. Coilovers are too expensive, Id rather upgrade to a bigger turbo before buying coilovers. I might just go with a set of sway bars (front and rear). We will see.
-
What about the Tein coilover, they are like $800 bucks at KOP. Any Good?
-
wow, it's been a whole year since i've seen you guys, time really flies! I had a blast last time when I flew out and visited you all. One of these days I'll drive out there in my GT.
That would be cool. however, with your track expierence you would probably smoke us all, lol.
