  1. Anyone know if we can our stock legacy rear axles with a sti rear axle to get the equivalent of the spec b rear axle? Basically just transplanting the outer diff end part of sti rear axle on to the stock rear axle in case there was any confusion? TIA, Anthony
  2. Please post results I thought they needed modified. TIA, Anthony
  3. 25-27 what I'm shooting for but they can be had all day long for 3k 3.5 was asking for tranny, drive shaft, r180, 4 hubs, and all four axles. He was a wrx to Sti conversion he was willing to accept 3k for it but before i got all my questions about donor car miles etc somone from our forums i believe got it. We discussed it a few posts back in this thread it was sold through nasioc Not sure where your shopping I guess local dealer but new Sti 6 speeds can be had from 42-4700 depending on exact year you get certain version are cheaper than others if I remember correctly 07 STi was cheapest but do some online subaru parts research if you want to know for sure. Sorry for dragging on off topic from thread.
  4. sorry way to much for me that is about what working ones go for good luck with repairs or sale. Thanks, Anthony
  5. Me too I'd rebuild it myself and save you the money if price was right
  6. Any idea where that tranny came from? I'd try to get some proof I made a offer he accepted than when I asked for proof he never responded I waited a couple days and asked again he said he had a better offer. I just let it go since I never got proof but he did accept my offer and then ignored that fact and me so I would be careful with the deal. Sorry for run on sentences and good luck with your purchase
  7. You could drill the spec b tranny for the dccd wiring it actually looks like the casting is there and just needs drilled but even if it is not you just need to drill and seal the hle then run it to dccd pro or other dccd controllers That said going with sti tranny probably easier but you do already have the spec b tranny but like they said you could probably sell it for close to what the sti tranny cost especially if you have put LSD in the front or center I was shopping for a spec b tranny until i found out about the open diff
  8. Did i read a post earlier right saying that 08 and up sti shifter and linkage can be used when doing a 6 speed swap with no modification to rod length etc.. ? In other words either buy a spec b short shift kit or just use the factory 08 adn up sti shift linkage and handle? TIA, Anthony
  9. ruggerheist, Did you get you spev from a yard or new? If you happen to know where another spec or sti tranny is at reasonable proce please let me know I have been watching carpart.com forever never any good deals at least not on suby drivetrain parts TIA, Anthony
  10. Just a reminder to some with out tool or who don't feel like renting them After removing the bolts from the hub re-attach your old rotor backwards and a 2-3 lugs to secure it and hit the old rotor with a mini-sledge I have found this to be the fastest way to remove stuck hubs on most cars I work on worst case brak out the full size sledge instead of hand held. And don forget to use the bolts to remove the rotors that are stuck on the first time you remove them.
  11. I am in WV looking for one too. Thought I had a 08 found but instaed a 08 wrx 5 speed showed up very disappointing especially considering I am locked into using the tranny that goes w/3.54 rear end bc I bought all supporting parts once tranny shipped. TIA, Anthony
  12. It was in your first post but I detailed the reason in my last post the one you responded too. It it looks like you already corrected it. Anthony
  13. i have noticed part numbers do not always tell the whole story but help such as the spec b drive shaft and a/t driveshaft I bought the spec b but it seems they are the same . Also lots of parts i have purchased have been the same but numbers are superseded or such . Is the dump valve you mention the same thing as the delay valve I have seen people talk about removing? I can not understand its purpose and what is it delaying the release of fork so it ads a little extra time so the driver gets it into gear before the clutch ad flywheel are connected again? preventing missed shifts or grinded gears? TIA, Anthony
  14. i wrote that last month and you are crazy if you think the 3 threads really answer the questions .... they definately point you in the right direction but you need things like opposed forces etc.. to really confirm things to much hear say and contradiction in the main swap threads..... very conflicting info specifically on the 3.54 vs. 3.9 diff years and the corresponding 1.1:1 vs 1:1 trannys reading all the threads mainly caused the confusion that caused the posts you keep complaining about bc i read different things in each one.i just corrected i believe groff which is one of the main 3 referenced luckily i did not purchase w/o lots of the double checking you keep pointing out....why waste the time doing that answer the question or do not post u are wasting your time and energy and now i have triple posted this point in at least 2 threads I do not think i have any unknowns left except maybe if the 08-011 sti linkage is different than the spec b stuff like previous sti linkages were and this forums is very bad for reading other peoples posts gets passed off as knowledge I prefer to hear things from people who have actually done them not talked about them or paid to have someone else do them Anthony sorry for being off topic
  15. ever find out the differences our do you mean there are none by saying they are interchangeable? TIA, Anthony
  16. I have always been use to unclemats version but back to topic Are the sti & specB slave cylinders the same? If they are not will either work? TIA, Anthony
  17. So should thee be two different holes drilled? One to allow the collar to slip up into and the other too thread on to the shifter shaft? Any ideas o modding the lock out so it does not slide into shift knob? Ive only been in one sit recently and should have looked closer the only other reference I have is my supra which has a 6 speed with lock out that goes up into the shift knob but I think looking at it can't get me past ideas
  18. Do you know the threaded shaft size of the 6speed shifter? Also does the reverse lock out slide up into shift knob? TIA, Anthony
  19. Groff are you sure you options match right? The spec b r180 is a 3.54 from my research as is the 06 sti r180 meaning that they have the 1.1:1 tranny where the 04-05 sti has the 1:1 tranny with a 3.9 r180 Do you think this info is correct or incorrect? If it is correct i believe your options need adjusted. Seems like you have the sti years and 1.1:1 vs 1:1 reversed if i am not mistaken.
  20. Hammer down, I have seen other talk about you modding the Subaru Momo 5 speed shifter and making it work in your 6-speed swap. I only saw you mention the autozone knob in your thread. If you did do this could you tell me about it and if possible show me some pictures. I definately plan on going this route i love my shift knob and will find away to use it. TIA, Anthony
  21. Are the sti & specB slave cylinders the same? If they are not will either work? Also that diff mounting bracket that i was confused about is usually reffered to as a pinion brace or mount TIA, Anthony
  22. how about clutch master and slave cylinders? Also as far as clutch and flywheel go is the standard sti stuff good enough for how much hp? TIA, Anthony
  23. Looks like I'll be using the 08 sit transmission I have and a spec b rear diff. Does this mean I have to use the spec b rear axles? Also can I use a 4eat driveshaft or does it have to be the spec b driveshaft also? If I can use the auto driveshaft is it thte same exact part as the spec b driveshaft or is the spec b stronger or better for some reason. Seems like I could get a auto driveshaft cheaper than I could get a spec b shaft. TIA, Anthony
  24. But the orange doesnt match our interior? For some reason i thought the sti's had same red lighting as us. Do they have a different color interior lighting? TIA, Anthony
  25. Do the sit switchs illumination match or legacy interior illumination? TIA, Anthony
