This is probably a stupid question but I have been out of the Subaru game for about 5 years when I had a 2005 2.5i. My brother overheated the motor right after we did his timing belt in his 2011 Legacy 2.5i and it needs replaced. When I look at junkyards, they are listing only 2010\2011 engines for his Legacy. When I did the timing belt, the engine looked identical to my 2005 engine.
Question - will the engine long block from a 2005-2009 work in a 2011 as long as I swap the intake and all other accessories?
