  1. Who tuned it? You should be asking them about this. If you weren't tuned, then there's your problem. You have a 3 port EBCS, you shouldn't be using a restrictor pill at all if it was done correctly.

    edit: Christ, you're this guy:

    http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/excessive-intake-temps-190748.html?t=190748

    You need a new tuner.

I have been tuned. Maybe my tuner didn't know about the restrictor pill so its still in my vehicle?

What does it look like and where exactly is it?

I am having another tuner look at my car tomorrow.

  2. I have a 20g turbo and I am having a hard time making target boost which should be 24-26psi. Right now I am maxing at 20-21.

I have a grimmspeed EBCS and the turbo manufacturer recommended a .060" pill to help hit target boost.

It seems everyone on this site is going smaller.....not larger?

    Is he right?

PS - I have a Perrin TMIC & AVO Adjustable Actuator if that is needed to know.

  3. I don't recall if yours has the pocket in behind the glove box that can be removed.. I think it does. You can pull that out and look in behind the side of the air handler box and see if the passenger side air-mix actuator moves when you adjust the passenger side air temp. I'll take a photo of mine later so you know what I'm talking about.

If it moves then it's likely a heater core issue - was the core itself replaced or just the lines to it?

As for the low air flow - that's a new one to me. Is it just the main vents that are affected? Does it change when you hit the fresh/recirc button?

I do have the pocket you are talking about in my glove box but I don't knwo what I am looking at in there.

The low airflow is speratic thats why it is weird to me too. This morning it didn't work but coming home from work it did.

I tried adjusting all setting but nothing does it. Still no airflow but blower is going and being adjusted.

  4. No air at all is blowing from the vents or just not warm/cold enough? I was thinking the blower wheel could be plugged, but you said it works OK the day after, so that's not it.

When you press the fan speed buttons, can you hear the blower changing speeds? Do you have the airflow problem only when at a certain mode such as through the front dash vents, defroster vent, recirc/fresh, etc...?

As for your issue with the hot air on the passenger side - I've been through this. Most likely if there is air flow but no hot air, the passenger side of the heater core has become plugged, probably with Subaru Coolant Conditioner used to preserve the head gaskets.

This has been a problem on single and dual-zone HVAC systems.

In the single zone system, the air box where the air is either heated or cooled is actually separated in the middle. Air for the driver and air for the passenger is drawn over separate parts of the heater core. So it stands to reason that if the passenger side of the heater core is somehow plugged then air on that side will not be heated.

I would request that the dealer flush and backflush the heater core. Not a standard "cooling system flush" but flush just the heater core.

There is several problems I have been having.

The first thing to start happening is my dual climate control the passenger side does not blow hot really at all. The blower is the same on the passenger as the driver.

The new problem is it sounds liek the blower is working and changing speeds but no air is coming out the main vents. I can have it to max and you hear the blower going but you can barely feel a dribble of air coming out.

The motor was recently rebuilt and has all new heater core lines as well as everything else. So thats why I was thinking it was a vacuum flapper isue. Not sure though.

  5. I have this issue. It's annoying to say the least when you're in snowy mountains and you just want hot air asap...:spin::soap_box::mad:

I have this problem too but the hot air never comes on the passenger side. too bad for them lol.

My real problem is the entire A/C system seems to get stuck sometimes where i can have the fan/blower on max and barely any air comes out. but the very next day or for the next week it could work perfectly fine with no problems?

Do the flappers get stuck? Do they work on a vacuum? DO they need to be cleaned?

  6. Yea I second the headlight thing and maintenance thing.

My headlights get a yellow haze to them too but with a headlight cleaning kit available anywhere they shine right up again. The yellow keeps coming back over time though. You got to do it once every 6 months maybe.

As far as the leather goes mine did the same thing in the same spot. It turns out there was something with the seat that became dislodged under the leather. Subaru replaced the leather and fixed the problem under warranty around the same mileage you stated.

As far as the maintenance. Stay stock stay happy. The turbo is lots of fun but if you plan on modding plan to spend alot of money. I am rebuilding my entire motor because of the well known cracked ringland on two pistons. $10k later I should be up and running soon :)

P.S. Check for low or burning oil. Floor the gas when you test drive it to see if it blows any smoke. The safer bet would be a leakdown test before you purchase.

I could have pawned off my car on an unsuspecting buyer since it drove perfectly but instead I decided to pay a crap ton and keep it.

  7. Hey everyone! I see Bird Road Subaru has an 05 GT sedan with only 37,115 miles on it. I'd love to get a turbo engine, but really like my wagon. Also, I saw the car in person. The driver's seat has heavy wear on the left side (it's leather) and the headlights have a little bit of fade going on. I did not get a chance to test drive it. Is owning a turbo worth it? And what's the deal with fading/fogging headlights? Is it from being in sunshine all the time? I am interested in everyone's opinions.... Thanks in advance

  8. I'm in, lets do it at a central venue and not too far North. Maybe we can meet for an autocross at Sebring or track day at the newly redesigned Palm Beach motor speed way (several coming up in the coming months)

I was thinking about going to Bradenton actually tomorrow or Saturday. Turns out I would need a helmet tho and I don't think I am willing to pay 200 bucks for a helmet that I would only use once or twice.....

  9. Kinda. We've got the Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough and Sarasota counties that all kinda tie into one which has quite a few Subies. We also have Orlando which isn't that far of a drive.

I know there will be an All We'll Drive meet over in Tampa mid April where there will be a lot of Subies (not that many Legacys), Evos and a few other DSMs coming out.

I may be bringing mine out for the first time ever. Never been to a meet show track anything with my legacy and I have had it for 2 years.

It was supposed to be tuned 2 weeks ago by Scott but there was a mishap so hopefully it will be fixed by then.
