We said our goodbyes to Shugo today. Very, very, hard to do.

 

Many tears and heartfelt thanks for all of the great years (nearly 17).

 

Couldn't ask for a better companion and one who would go all day with you on a hike and never complain, slow-down or be anything but totally jazzed that he was outdoors with us.

 

Shibas are a very independent breed, and he epitomized all of the best of his breed - loved this about him. He was never one to snuggle, and I can count on one hand the number of times that he nuzzled or licked. Most recently, he's just put his head on my knee and looked at me, as much to say, I'm ready to go, but I'll miss you.

 

The vet and techs were all so kind and attentive, and they made sure he was peaceful and not stressed at all.

 

So, you'll be missed, terribly, buddy, but we know you're pain free now, and finally able to rest peacefully. You've earned it.

 

Thank you for a lifetime of great memories.

Graco has some car seats that are really easy to move around. We have used them for both kids. Getting them in and out of the LGT is a snap.

The habit breaking process that time stopped because he came down with croup and and ear infection at the same time. After all that cleared up he seems to have regulated his own sleep. Now we regularly get 8-9 hours through the night with one 1-1.5 hr nap throughout the day.

Any suggestions?

Oh gods, the 10 month old has gotten into the habit of taking 20-30 min naps throughout the day. Breaking this habit is gonna suck!

I know its not a home improvement thing but the builders pour the concrete for my new house tomorrow! Its a 4 bd 2.5 bath 2300 square foot 2 story new house! Closing day is approx 29 Dec but Im betting that it will get pushed to the right due to winter weather delays.
