The 629 is better because it now has an LED backlight, hence making it might brighter and easier to see. The 629 has auto on and does not require any soldering. The 629 also has auto switch for backup cameras. So, it will switch to the backup camera source as soon as it senses such. This is why the EBY-701 is much cheaper then the 629.

Hmm, why didn't u use the m1-atx instead? Looks like the same size as the one that came with the kit.

nemo- I can get you the M3 for 74. Not a big difference, but a little cheaper I can give you the Eby-701 screen for 179.00.

Where the OEM nav unit would go, there is space to put in a screen, but it is very very tight fit. I did a Legacy wagon screen in that location and when trying to put the bezel back on, it was a bitch. I never recommend putting the system in the dash or glove box due to heat and vibrations. Under the seats there is no room at all, so the best place would be to place it in the trunk, which is where I placed it.

I tested this on another machine and the issue was not present, weird. I'm using the same plugin as well and have too noticed that the Dest button doesn't work. But really, you can do all those from within IG, so it's not really an issue. Out of commision for weeks??? I could not live without it for weeks In regards to the screen, are you sure you have not pressed the Night button? The one with the little Moon icon? That button makes the entire screen darker and darker. On the same note, I'm in the process or having screen upgraded with the transflective upgrade. With this, the touchscreen of the screen will be replaced and the entire upgrade will be performed. I hope to receive the first test screen within two weeks, depending on the results, I will order 10+ of these. Would anyone be interested in these? I also plan to just offer the option to upgrade your existing screen so you guys don't have to buy a complete new screen. I'm also working on getting complete TPMS kits. This will include the TPMS kit plus the USB board to connect it to the CarPC. You can buy both or individual products. This will be plug and play and you will not have to do any cutting/modding to any of the devices. Would anyone be interested in this?

f1anatic- Do you have the issue with IG4 where it raises the main system volume on its own when speaking? I just installed it with CF and noticed that everytime it speaks it raises the volume of the system to about 2-3 bars then lowers it. It's a nice feature but get annoying if you don't want it that loud. I have the same Bu-353 gps receiver and have no issues with hibernation as well. I also use the Holux unit without issues with hibernation. For the person considering the VoomPC2, just go with v1. It's smaller and more compact. The v1 does not fit under any of the seats in the Legacy, I had to place it in the trunk.

Which GPS receiver do you have? I'm using hibernation with both the bu-353 and the Holux and they both work fine. I have tried the new version, but I would suggest to wait until the final release comes out. Right now it's a test release and it has a lot of bugs, especially with the phone. The range of the wireless depends on what is between the access point and your device. If there are walls, metal, etc, it will degrade the distance. USB and PCI wifi adapters should have the same range and b/g should have the same as well except that you'll get a better speed with G then B. If you want a good signal at a specific spot, get a directional antenna for your access point and point it to the location you wish to have a better range. I have wifi in my car and I can get a connection in the alley and infront of my house and the access point is in my living room.

Have you guys seen the JDM stereo bezel that is a two part piece? It will get rid of the OEM radio and provide you with a 2din area where to put the screen. I'm not sure if the HVAC controls of the JDM will work with your USDM models though. Vsick- can you provide info on how you made this possible to turn the carpc on with the alarm deactivation? 45 seconds, are you using a full boot? If so, try using hibernation instead, your boot times will come down to about 20 seconds. The only option to remove the glare is to get a transflective screen. On my wife's Si though, the locoation and angle of the screen makes a world of difference. It's location high on the dash and angled toward the head liner, this avoids most of the glare from the surround area.

I don't use Xport since it was not working properly. I'm just using everything regular. The systems that I offer to my customers come out of hibernation in about 20+ seconds.

I am using hibernation and using the Bu353 and it comes back up without any issues. I also use the Holux receiver and works perfect. With the motherboards that I sell to my customers, hibernation comes out in about 20 seconds from start to Centrafuse playing music, pretty fast.

Use hibernation for better boot times. I use 800x600 without any issues.

I don't recommend that system that you're looking into, it has had many bad reviews and unhappy customers. Sent yo a PM.

You would probably need a 10' extension. You can route it under the back seats and through your center console.

From what I've read, the IG4 doesn't work with Centrafuse plugin. Do you have the issue with the current IG3 plugin that when it loads, IG moves all over the place before embedding? Also, that tool bar will still show unitl you Maximize/Minimize the Centrafuse IG screen? Here's a little pic of a bezel I just finished for a customer http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r263/wsiliezar/Allpics.jpg

Take off the plastic pieces/door seals and route the wires through there. There should be no wires resting on the floor for any reason.

Try the Simplistique skin, that is what I use. Your problem might be in the configuration file. Make sure that both .wma and .mp3 are set as supported files.
