There needs to be more 'cool' subie owners around me. I might see two in a week and no one waves back, but they usually look WAY too 'proper' to acknowledge a car like mine??

^NICE!! I wish I could get some aftermarket wheels, but it isn't time yet....

ercdvs, I have yet to have any problems with cutting the shift button wires, and yes I have used the "manumatic" a lot and haven't had ANY problems what so ever. The only wires I cut were the shift button wires, the rest I used splice clips and braided wire.

Mvigneau, I wish it was. The more I read on here the longer my wish list gets.

Leonardo, done did it, and wouldn't go back. No CEL's as far as I know, no problems either.

No problem, all is good. We've all been there before. I think I have some photos showing where I put the wire taps on my home computer. When I get heck out of work, I'll see what I have and get them to you or post them.

Last Thrusday when I was leaving the Toledo airport parking I noticed a nice Spec B about 10 spaces down from me. It looked very nice with it's tinted windowns.

mvigneau, that sounds weird with what is going on. My illumanation works just like the rest of the the car, and I never had any new dash lights come on. I did cut the two wires like in the directions though. If I understand that you did not. Let me know what you find out. The last time I took my car in, no one noticed the switch.

Yup... That might be a good choice for those people that want a less expensive option or perhaps want to keep their shifter buttons if they drive a slowmatic.
Slowmatic, ouch! no respect..........

No CEL's and I can't flash yet. I did this a while ago and no bad things have happened. (As you hear me knocking on some wood)

Yep and yep.
I haven't had ANY problems what so ever. I used splice blocks and braided wire (from Radio Shack) instead of cutting wires and solid core wire, I did have to cut the shift wires though. Trabbic's directions are extremely good, and the sub-woofer instructions are what I used to get to the back of the radio since that part of the directions were for the manual. The radio controls are MUCH more useful than the shift buttons (plus the illuminated buttons look cool at night)

Sorry I didn't get back with you Leonardo, I've been traveling for work so much that I forgot. But then again I have forgotten a bunch of stuff and have no idea what time it is or what day it is. Which really sucks when I'm home and it's a Friday...........

I spotted a RB LGT sedan today in Oregon (Toledo) in a parking lot on Navarre. The owner tried to flag me down, but I was in a huge hurry and couldn't stop. I feel bad because I would have liked to stop and bs with him. I may have to stop back and see if it's still there. If the owner is a member here, sorry.

mvigneau, nothing really special. Trabbic's instructions are good. I do have the .pdf on getting to the radio, but I'm not sure how to post it. I tried attachng it, but it was too large. I did cut the shifter wires and haven't had any lights as of yet.

Well I finally got the time to install the buttons. It was very easy, good walkthrough! It took me about 2hr, it could have been quicker, but I got anal about cutting the wires that were for the shift buttons. I tried to pull the connectors out of the housing. I spliced the wires into the harness between the swivel and the plug. I ended up cutting the wires. Oh well. I also had a brain fart on installing the buttons. I took the steering wheel off, then thought why take the wheel off, I only have to take out the screws. So I put it back on. Then I realized I had to take it off, so I took it off once again. I did find a instruction sheet that was posted that showed how to take the radio out for installing the sub, which helped me figure out how to get that all taken apart, I wish I could remember who posted it. The new buttons are very cool, I think the strreing wheel should come this way. Thanks a ton Trabbic.
Oh yeah, When I took the car out after the install I foundout about having to reteach the ECU! Can you say NO get-up-and-go!! I did find this which I think helped. NASIOC - Re-Mapped ECU Learning Trick 10-20hp in 5 seconds

The buttons showed up today and they are the correct ones. Now all I have to do is find time to install them. I'm planning to take photos and notes for thoes with AT's. I'll post when I get them installed. Boy I would hate to get "sick" this week, 'cough' 'cough'

Thanks Chris, I may take you up on that if I run into problems. But first I need to actually be home long enough to get to it once they show up.

Well, I just found out that my new controls are backordered. Now I'm kind of glad I'm in Chicago. This way I'm not at home and waiting to install them.

It's nice to see than my friends aren't the only ones like this
I know I will be ordering them and installing them. Hopefully I will get to it between trips for work. BTW, since I just bought my LGT, what stuff is supposed to happen to my car?

Anyone know the part number for just the controls? I'm finding that the 83153AG000 number is for the shifter buttons also.

Has anyone tried this on a 5EAT? Is there any specific reason that you used solid core instead of braided wire? I think I am going to do this as soon as my work stops shipping me out all over the U.S.

Oh yeah, I thought I would add that I will most likely be doing the power mods last. I think it would be more fun to be able to have a car that can handle and stop awsome, then add the HP.
