For the $$$ you can't beat Forge.

If you're willing to ship them to me or at least the new OE one would be awesome. I talked to my professor about it yesterday and even he is interested to see what we find.
PM me your address I'll get one out to you. Just a new one?
-
I have a new OE and an 80,000 mile one with a cracked ring land if he wants it.
-
I would be interested in the properties of a NEW OE and a 100,000 mile OE piston. I swear they get brittle around 80-100K miles.

And Hillary Clinton has been a politician for.......
O.
Doesn't matter, your still wrong.
-
This is incorrect. The manual section quoted says the pin must be upwards, nothing about clock position.
When the large part of the jiggle pin is in the uppermost part, the spring is in the block. It allows a small flow of coolant when the t stat is fully closed.
I am sure that I have not done as many T stat changes as you, but I have NEVER had an issue, regardless of orientation.
O.
Well I copied and pasted RIGHT FROM THE MANUAL......jiggle pin always goes on top regardless of your "experience". You are wrong, just suck it up and admit it. I've been an automotive technician for 31 years, I know what I am talking about.
12:00 IS the top!
-
Rotation is irrelevant.
WRONG.......the jiggle pin ALWAYS goes in the 12:00 position.
From the service manual: NOTE:
- When reinstalling the thermostat, use a new gasket.
- The thermostat must be installed with the jiggle pin facing upward.

I am fully aware of my punctuation and grammar mistakes. I really don't GAF.

evangt- the catted UP is strictly for cold start emissions and it was a bad idea. Subaru stopped using catted UP's in 2006.
Blocking up these vents will NOT help cabin air quality. You are sealing up the vent, preventing fresh air from coming in.
Imagine the blower on your car's HVAC system is like a hair dryer blowing through a paper towel tube. Now plug up one end of the tube. That's what you guys are doing by taping up those vents.
Your talking thru your FCKN ass, I've had this mod for three years now. Air IS NOT SUPPOSE TO ENTER THROUGH THOSE VENTS, ONLY EXIT. That's the problem the flappers do not seal. My HAVC works flawlessly, you haven't tried the mod nor do you have a catless system so STFU and let them try it, they will breathe better air.

He pay-pal'd me 50 bucks to say that.

As a 4th gen owner I wasn't thrilled with the 5th gen until I saw how mean they look with the proper set of wheels and tires. They looked "tipsy" to me, but check out GTEASER'S 5th gen.
Beautiful car, the flared fenders flow so nicely with a nice offset of the wheels.
So one 4th gen owner here that's not a 5th gen hater.
-
The 5th Genners can up the post count if you want some BM/BR chassis pics. We don't seem to have too much trouble fitting "meaty" tires under our fenders.
255's and 275's are plentiful in our much hated on little corner of the forum.
I'll start with some 255's on 18x9+40....

THIS is one sweet looking 5th gen. Nicely done

And ANOTHER throw out bearing while its out!

It'll never handle like a 944.

Over time and mileage it is normal for valves to recede into the seats on any engine. This is why clearance should be checked on a schedule as much of a pain in the ass it is.
-
.Yeah let us know how it goes. If it works great on the long run, then I'll remember this method (had to buy 8 new buckets last year ).Yes, those buckets are not cheap!
Hats off to the OP for thinking outside the box ( or bucket lol ).
-
Nice but you do realize those buckets are designed to spin as the lobes run across them?
I'm afraid if you didn't put the proper finish on them they might bind on the valve stem and not turn, or possibly grind the valve stems down. Just a theory, don't go jumping off a bridge!

Kumho Ecsta PA31 225/45R17 on Avanti Racing 17x7
Third set of Kumho's. The PA31's are their newest HPAS tire. These tires keep getting better. I had ASX's, and Ecsta LX Platinum which both were decent for the money however these PA31's are impressive. QUIET, SMOOTH, excellent road manners and wet traction. I haven't "loved" a set of tires in a long time......I'm falling in love with these! The first set of tires on my Legacy that do not shimmy AT ALL.....NOTHING PERFECTLY SMOOTH. For $400.00 shipped to my door (tire rack) I don't think there is a better choice out there.

Did you know auto trans LGT engines do not come equipped with timing belt guards? No harm in putting them in but they are not factory installed. Just FYI.
-
Is your car an automatic or a standard trans?
-
That new 5.0 is no joke. The guy cannot drive.

Quick question before I order this;
Can I use this aux input to play my XM tuner thru?
Can I make this switchable between the XM and aux input somehow?
I currently have the XM going thru an FM modulator and the sound is horrible. I want the aux for my I phone, and XM.
Thanks in advance guys, looks like a great product.

quick question.
I found a sweet deal on an 07 wrx transmission with only 30k on it.
my synchros are messing up in 4th in 5th on my current tranny in the 05lgt.
now, can i swap that tranny (07 wrx) into my lgt?
I've searched and searched..
75 pages in the tranny section and no key words point me in the right direction.
Did you try some extra-s first?
Red tail lamp film.
