  1. I am going to take mine in tomorrow after work for them to take a look at it. I have had this console gap since the car was new.

Hopefully ... they can just order me a new part and new surround and it will be fixed....

I also have a problem with the passenger side rear door panel..... the fabric keeps folding up over the arm rest....

    Interesting...

    Mine did the same thing..

I complained, and the dealer fixed it about 3k miles ago... It has not returned ;)

  2. Great mod, thanks for the walk-through! I guess you soldered the two wires back together in the pic below, but the possibility of dripping hot metal onto my console scared me, so if anyone else has this phobia, I would recommend using crimp-on butt connectors - very easy! Like these: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103510&cp=2032058.2032231.2032283&pg=2&parentPage=search&kw=butt&parentPage=family

Or, if you don't want to cut the wires at all, just swap their positions in the connector :)

  3. You can actually tap into the brown wire from the dome light up front by the map lights. The dome light wiring harness is just left of the map light inside the headliner. I ended up taping into the brown wire like mwierner2 suggested, I didn't realize the wiring harness upfront until later.

Has anyone actually tapped into this wire yet (the rear dome wire that runs by the front map lights)?

I was looking at this last night and I couldn't find those wires. It appears to me that there are a few wires that run over to the vanity mirror lights for the passenger, but none that run back to the dome light.
