  1. Very nice! If you come to Portland I'd come down and say hi and maybe help out if you'd want. I know PIR by heart, ORP pretty well, but I've not been to the Ridge yet, although it's all from the seat of a motorcycle. Best of luck out there.
  2. I'm nearly (I think) complete with my e-tune with Dave. I've got nothing but praise for the man and his breadth of knowledge and patience. His base map was as strong as Cobb's OTS stage 2 while being much, much, much, smoother. Shit, I was plenty pleased with the base map - the car has never driven that smoothly before, not even when I drove it out of the dealership with 8 miles on the clock - but that was only the beginning. Each iteration has gotten progressively more powerful while retaining butter like smoothness and impeccable drivability. All that with him turning the new revision around very quickly and initially him waiting for me to chase down and fix the mechanical gremlins that were in the way. Even though I was over my allotted month due to this he never asked for anything, even though I offered, and forged on with revisions. Great tuner and by all accounts a standup guy.
  3. That is good to hear. I'm looking forward to this and would probably get rid of my current US made, somewhat ill fitting intercooler, hopefully smaller one, for the G.S. creation.
  4. Yeah, what's the holdup? Just copy the Process West and increase the core in all three directions by a fraction of an inch, bring the price down, and BAM!

  6. Mike sorry to hear about the BS. I'm no small business owner, but I'd simply raise the price. Like you said, it's only an oil line kit. Shit, I was elated when I ran across BNR and the prices of his turbos. To see that I could buy a bigger turbo, that is rebuild able, from a reputable guy, for about $500 less than the replacement VF-46...it's a no brainer that I'd want to protect it for a bit more. I'm surprised that Brian does not sell them straight up with a turbo for a Subaru, price included. I read the post about the packaging and in all honest that was from someone who you could not please if you gave them the parts for free, cause you did not install them for him. I'll order one from your next batch and take a load of pictures, do a detailed write up, and if it fancies you, you can post a pdf of the whole thing on your site next to the kit.
  7. This. Honestly it's an only well thought out solution for our troubled, debris filled, turbo oil systems out there. To put a price on it, I'd not object to $225 at all. Extra $50 in the whole scheme of upgrading a turbo is a drop in a bucket in my mind.
  8. Damn it! My stocker has some shaft play and I was looking at you BNR for a replacement sometime in 2014, with Mike's bypass filter.
  9. Here is my take on this mod. I went in to change the pads and also replaced all 6 rubber lines with stainless steel braided hoses from Goodridge and figured if I have to bleed the whole system I'm going to throw on the STI booster and MC. The brake pedal feel is completely different. If it's for better or worse really lays in the users eyes. If you want a hard pedal this is the mod for you. If you care for your car to stop better, this does nothing for it. It feels like there is a wood block behind the brake pedal with not much travel even after adjusting the brakes. The other reason I did this is, next time I do my brakes I'm going with a Wildwood front calipers and STI's bigger MC will push more fluid since Wildwoods have twice as many pistons. This will also take some of that wooden hard feeling out of the pedal too. Am I glad I did it? Not really sure. It did not ruin anything just changed its feel and it did set me up for the next mod. If I was not going the way of calipers with more pistons, I would have preferred the old pedal feel. I don't race or drive this car hard, but do know how I like my brakes. This is mainly from being a motorcycle track-day junkie. I can tell you how I prefer the lever to feel and brakes to work when I need to haul the bike down into the first corner from 180 MPH and trail brake through.

  11. Cool thanks! We just entered our 6-months of non stop rain and not having the car for a few days would just suck. It takes too long to gear up and ride the bike.
  12. I am at 6K and the seat has been squeaking since 100 miles on the odometer. I just need to find some time to take the car in. How is Subaru for loaner cars? Will I get one if I take it in for a recall plus a gamut of other warranty related things?
  13. My '07 Nismo Frontier over steered. It died at 9812 miles from stepping the rear end out, at 60 MPH on the freeway, in the wet and kissing the median with its a**. I can usually control a sideways sliding vehicle (Had a Nissan 240SX that loved to fish tail even in the dry.), but it becomes really hard to control a 4700 lbs. 4x4 at 60 MPH, going sideways. I was hoping that the LGT was better, so far no problems.
