  1. Hi all, got a couple of questions for my 2015 Legacy. I lost my fob. So I plan to buy one for the locksmith to cut and program. Here's the thing, I've lost a fob a few years back and here's what happened. When I lost the first fob, my spare keys became useless. I'm guessing due to a new code being programmed. I don't want that to happen again and end up paying another $60 per key to get the spare keys I have on hand programmed to the new code. So can a new fob be programmed the the current code? I'd rather not have to get all my keys reprogramed just because I lost one key. Also, is there a way to disable the whole transponder system relatively cheaply? I have no concerns about theft, so it's pretty much added expense and an annoyance. I would prefer the abilty to have a handfull of cheap $4 metal keys that will start my car rather than deal with programming hassles whenever I need a new spare. Thanks!
