  1. Start by looking under the trunk floor at the jack and other items stored in there. Make sure the spare tire is well tightened as well.
  2. Just got this picture from a '21 Outback Outdoor (Canadian model with base radio) press vehicle and it has a "3 speed" Speed Volume Control. Curiously, the Harman Kardon radio still doesn't. Subaru Canada doesn't answer my claims.

  4. Any info if the Speed Volume Control and other audio controls under Vocal Image Control were reinstated on the Harman Kardon system with this update? Subaru Canada doesn't answer my e-mails...
  5. Both my GF and I have identical '20 Legacy Limited. On hers, I soon detected a noise coming from the passenger front door. Like an old CD case left in the door pocket when closing or shaking the door. It was found that a steel bar front the window mechanism or structural was not tightened at all. Ask if your delaer looked at that.
  6. I purchased 17'' steelies from my dealer and put 225/55-17 winter tires on my Limited that has OEM 225/50-18. I doubt 18'' steelies are available for Subaru's, and for most cars actually. Fortunately, TPMS sensors are not mandatory in Canada and Subaru was wise enough not to put any in our cars... BTW, clearance for the front brake calipers is very small with the 17'' wheels.
  7. My '20 can display the oil temp in the top center screen, and I wonder if a Scangauge could show the transmission temperature? But for that, it needs to have a temperature sensor in it?
  8. The '18 Mazda 3 I traded for the Legacy had a "7 speed" Speed Compensated Volume Control in its base 6 sp audio...
  9. March '20, Canadian model as well. But my car was a dealer trade and the brakes were lubricated so it might have been done at that dealer.
  10. Any mention or details as to what this update contains?
  11. Check again, I bet it's not there and this is lame for a high end audio system if you ask me.
  12. Well yes, as I discovered yesterday wanting to put my winter wheels on. Dealer replaced the stud and gave me a new nut this morning but still. So much for the Proudly built in Indiana. These cars come out with too many assembly defects. If I was a Subaru mogul in Japan, I'd be pissed. I feel sorry for those who do their job well. '20 Legacy built Mar 2020
  13. Let me know if the Harman Kardon stereo in your '21 has a speed volume control?
  14. I would like a Subaru engineer to explain to me why both regular and adaptive cruise control always revs the engine 2-300 RPM higher than without cruise; Ex. 1950 RPM at 110 km/hr instead of 1700. It defeats the purpose of a cruise which aims to reduce fuel consumption. I demonstrated this to a dealer, who was amazed and contacted Subaru technical support to be told that the fuel consumption remains the same. But I have doubts. I think they programmed the cruise control to stick to the CVT's simulated eighth gear of 0.559 instead of the final gear of 0.503. I don't get it.
  15. Yeah, there's some king of a discrepancy but I tend to trust the digital one better.
  16. Mine is spot on at 70 to 90 Km/h but I'm going close to 1 km/h faster at 100 and 110 than indicated on the digital speedometer of my Limited with 18' wheels. Usually, I expect the other way around so just be careful when you drive in "ticket territory". My odometer is also close to 1% pessimistic compared to Google Maps and the last 2 cars I had on the same nearly 400 km route.
  17. Both my GF and I have identical blue '20 Legacy Limited's. Mileage on both is identical when I drive in identical conditions, broken in or not. I did as high as 5.5 L/100 km (43 MPG US) on a few 400 km trips. 6L/100 km (39 MPG US) being average on those trips. Mostly hilly 2 lane roads with small towns and little room for passing requiring heavy throttle on occasions. I was pleasantly surprised considering posted hwy mileage is 35 MPG US (6.7 L/100 km). I recently did 942 km on a tankfull with 130 km of range left. I will definitely be able to crack the 1000 clics on a tankfull one day. I suspect high ethanol content killing mileage in the states. I only use regular 87 Octane fuel.
  18. Exactly what happened with my GF's '20 Legacy (we both have identical cars). The noise was driving me crazy coming from the right I thought. I opened the glass holder and removed a pair of plastic glasses making the noise... Her car also had a bad clunking noise in the right front door. One of the steel rods inside the door was left completely loose with the nut not tightened...
  19. I put mine in Neutral whenever possible when I get at a light and don't want the engine to stop for nothing. But the best would be a simple toggle on the console, same for AVH...
  20. I wonder if I could remove the longitudinal bars on mine or if that would leave holes in the 4 corners of the roof?
  21. Can you confirm the bolt pattern and bore center on the '20 Legacy. I have the non turbo Limited on 18's that look identical as the turbo's.
  22. My '20 Legacy Limited with Harman Kardon audio (Canadian model) has received a software update but the Speed Volume Control is now gone. Also, the Vocal Image Control icon is missing. I find this very disapointing for a supposedly high end system not to have these basic controls. The Mazda 3 that I traded on the Subie had a 7 "speed" SVC on its base 6 speakers radio. My dealer is helpless although I demonstrated the problem on 3 different vehicles. I reached out to Subaru Canada asking to escalate the issue to tech support. Reference P. 90, 138-140 of the Subaru Starlink Manual.
