$18 CND DIY eyelids

I have always like the look of the eyelids, but i just couldn't get myself to spend $$$ for them. So I made these myself. I left it carbon for now. Maybe i will paint them later. Not quite as sexy as the real thing but close enough for <$20. Let me know what you think. If there is interest I can send you a file for a stencil so you can make you own.

I use Graphix FX. I brought it at Canadian Tire. I found it in the same section where they keep the window tinting, side molding and exterior graphics material. I will let you know in a month how the material holds up.

The stencil.pdf file is 50% of the actual size stencil you will need. Use you favourite graphics program (or maybe even ms word will do) enlarge the graphics 200%, print it and way you go.

Not bad...not sure it is my thing but could you show a close up of the detail and how well it shaped around the lense? I was thinking of picking this stuff up to cover the "wood" trim

me too... maybe we can split the material?

hehehe

it is self adhesive. it forms very well to corners. it saids "heat moldable" on the package and you can encourage it w/ hair dryer. show us pictures when you are done w/ the wood trim, i still have material left over.

casopolis - it's easy to cut the material, i overlay the stencil on the material and cut it w/ scissors, and you can straighten it all you want before sticking it on the lights

great DIY job. you can always 'undo' assuming you can get the glue off. forms to the headlight curve quite well. I cannot cut that straight... that is my problem.

I think it looks great, I would prob paint mine white if I was gonna do them.

My concern would be being able to get them off without screwing up the plastic on the headlights, think its possible?

okla btw I was the one in chapters parking lot in oakville that time

I like it!! I like the lids on the car, but don't think it would look right putting them on my car with a hood deflector on. would look to busy.

  • 1 year later...

The OP just needed to paint them white and it'd be money. I do like my RBS better though
