mailman
did you check if there were any codes?
dark_thorns
There are no codes. I did compression test and cylinder 2 is definitely the problem. I only have 35 psi of compression. I did a leak down and it's leaking through the exhaust.
johnegg
ding, ding, ding, we have a winner!!!!! now for a valve job. tip: when removing the cam shaft assemblies to get to the head bolts, have the engine turned so the cams are on the top. this way the buckets and shims will not spill out on the floor. i hear egg cartons are good for keeping track of what goes where when dealing with buckets and shims. you'll need 2. dark_thorns
i just had a valve job done, but i never got the heads re-shimmed. and the shims could be out of order anyways, when i first took apart the heads i'm pretty sure the shims got rearranged and i don't have a micrometer to measure which ones are right or not. at this point i'm thinking it'll just be easier to replace the heads. dark_thorns
well i pulled the engine back out and was looking at the valves as i was turning it over. on cylinders 1 & 3 both intake valves open at the same time but in cylinder 2 the intake valves are slightly staggered when opening. are they supposed to open at the same time? Kennyfvholla
Yes, they are supposed to open at the same time. Look at the lobes on the camshaft.
