CourtneyAnn
Hey guys, I've been experiencing an issue with my 99 Subie Legacy Outback Limited and I was wondering what you guys think, because my mechanic can't seem to figure it out. Essentially, the problem is that the vehicle stops responding to the gas pedal/stops accellerating somewhat randomly. It usually happens in low-speed areas, under 20 mph and generally happens when its raining or snowing. The vehicle will coast, and I will continue to push down on the pedal, and it will take a few seconds and then kind of come to its senses. It usually will lurch forward a few times until it fully comes out of the non-accelleration period and then will work fine. I have also noted a hard shift between first and second gear, but I'm not sure if this is related. My mechanic has checked the fuel pump, spark plugs and wires as well as ignition to see if any of those have been causing the issue. HALP!
snederhiser
Hello; A few things come to my mind are, throttle position sensor, mass airflow sensor, ECU relay, and how's the ignition switch? Check electrical connections, Steven.
Stang70Fastback
The hard shift from 1st to 2nd is not related; it is typical of higher mileage automatics.
