A call for help to our our friends in Japan

Jedi and I are looking for some Subaru parts offered only to JDM. Would anyone have some good contacts at JDM Subaru dealers that would be interested in taking orders via email and sending to the states? Any contact information or leads would be appreciated. jdkobe

Yup - spoke with Kevin via email today and he is still working out the bugs in locating a source in Japan - he is thinking he will have it worked out by mid next month - so this info may help him too in locating a good dealer to work with over there... but who can wait till mid Augest :)

www.japanparts.com They can get any JDM part from Subaru, you just need to e-mail them for a quote. They will reply with a price and usually an image of the parts book to ensure they are quoting the right part. Don't worry if it's not "listed" on their site, they can still get it...trust me. I've used them a couple of times with great service.

If the parts are big-ish, you'll end up shipping them by boat - even if you bought tomorrow, they won't arrive for another month and a half. Biggest problem with Japanese parts to America is simply the time and cost of shipping. Cheers, Paul Hansen www.apexjapan.com

I'm interested in the front and rear JDM bumpers but I'm more interested in you guys being guinea pigs first to see if they will fit with or without the addition of the JDM bumper beam. :D

If I sell myself on the 2.5GT this weekend after a test drive, I'll be in for the spec-B front bumper, lower front splitter (you can just barely see it in this pic http://www.legacysti.com/album_page.php?pic_id=60 ) and whatever is needed to fit them properly. Would also need to know if the bumper piece comes pre-painted or not. I'd also be interested in the spec-B's suspension (both springs and struts) assuming it will all mount up properly to our USDM 2.5GTs. What is the taillight difference b/w JDM and USDM? Depending on how that is different I might also be interested in a set of those as well. =) edit - oh and this nice lip spoiler: http://www.bankheist.net/legacy_rear.jpg Boy then just wheels; tires; TBE; chip; subtle boost, oil temp, and A/F gauges; and some side and rear bodykit pieces to match the spec-B front piece and I'll be all set!

yeah the whole question is whether or not the jdm bumper beam will fit. i asked japanparts if it would fit, and they said it would, but i think they might have just been in a rush to sell me something who knows. anyhow it came out to be too expensive if you try to do it on your own...a group buy is definitely needed to keep prices down.
