robinlsb
Spray all the bolts/nuts with CRC, or BreakFree a week before you start work. "Belief does not make truth. Evidence makes truth. And belief does not make evidence."
chato
I installed a set a few months ago on an 05. We don't have much rust here in NM so the install wasn't too difficult as far as rusty bolts go. You should be able to install them by undoing the three bolts securing the top hats and the two bolts connecting to the LCA's. Mark the alignment settings on the adjusting bolt prior to disassembly. I would recommend watching the BC video about setting preload on the springs, its far easier (and more accurate) to do off the car. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlqOA35NmAw]BC Racing Coilover Spring Change and Preload Adjustment on Vimeo.mp4 - YouTube[/ame] Also, just in case you aren't familiar, height is adjusted by loosening the lower lockring and rotating the entire shock body, not by adjusting the spring perch as is the case on some coilovers. try to keep them clean, and always clean and lubricate before changing adjustments so sand and road grit don't mess up the threads. Otherwise, enjoy, I love mine.
legacyftw
ok so i installed the coil overs and everything went perfect and i love them. one problem that i discovered not to long after is that the rear left side was lower then the right by maybe 2/3 inches. i took both off and made sure they were set the exact same. the car still is lower on one side, so then i took it off again... got as much threads as i could from the bottom and even tightened the springs an inch more. the car now looks kinda aligned but there is a very small difference. i dont want to keep it set up like this. anyone have an idea of what could be wrong? legacyftw
yes they are set the same, i even used a micrometer to make sure it was. im probably going to take both of them off again sometime next week. im just hoping its not some kind of faulty problem with the coilover itself, but it seems fine, no signs of anyything that could be wrong with it. robinlsb
The only thing I can think of is miss matched springs:eek: "Belief does not make truth. Evidence makes truth. And belief does not make evidence."
