curtishaword
New Member just looking for advice in building an automatic gt daily driver. I have questions such as how far can I go before needing a tune? Can an STI intake be swapped or just get new injectors? Never built a car before, but have mechanical knowledge. Any advice is great, thanks.
a93x
Trans is good till about 300whp. Then you will want the HEXMODS valve body upgrade ($500) No need for an intake for quite some time. You also don't need to touch your injectors for some time. Go get a catless Uppipe/ down pipe/ grim speed boost control solenoid (EBCS) / tune and you'll be happy. torque impresses girrls, hp impresses flat-bills
06silvarubiLGT
You need a tune first.. there are flaws in the factory map. Get a cobb Ver2. or if you are good with cars and computers you can look up using a VAG Comm Cable/Tactrix and rom-raider.. PM Cryo for E-tune info or check on tuning forum.. Get used to searching, this website probably has all your questions answered already. Basically, get a panel filter or short ram intake, CBE, Up-pipe and your stg1 and will be happy.. for a little bit..
curtishaword
Thanks for the tips. One more question, keep stock exhaust manifold? But does changing that lead to needing a tune?
StoplightAssassin
Don't plan on brake launching a lot. You will hurt the trans.
06silvarubiLGT
Plan the build and the budget, do it all once, less tuning worries.. But some will say yes and some will say no..
