dgduris
Hello all. I returned from a 10-day trip to a dead 2006 Spec. B. A friend came to jump me but all that happened was that the light circling the key slot lit up, then the horn blew constantly. Couldn't get any other sign of life - including interior lights. So, I put in a new battery and now get absolutely nothing. No light, no sound. Nothing. I feel that I have run afoul of the security system. Anyone know if I am correct and what to do about it? I Donated Too sigmafour Posted February 17, 2013 I Donated Too Share Posted February 17, 2013 I am not sure you have. Something is just not right. You sure the new battery is good? disconnect battery again, put foot on brake and make sure car is completely 'dead' from the battery being connected. Make sure you have battery leads in the right place and connect the battery up carefully. Try again. If car still dead - start checking the main engine fuses. Something silly just happened, it's just not that advanced in the security department to be that fussy.
dgduris
New battery is good. I have changed dozens of batteries over the last 40 years. Everything is correct. The new battery is fully charged. I too am mystified as absolutely nothing is coming through from the battery. May be a bad cable or a bad connection because the car was completely dead on the re-connect. It was 25 degrees out. I'll check the cables in the morning. I Donated Too sigmafour Posted February 18, 2013 I Donated Too Share Posted February 18, 2013 then eyeball the fuses but this sounds a bit baffling. If you need some electrical diagrams I'll PM you something of interest...
