Car Won't Start

Recommended Posts

Hello this is my first time posting on here, hoping you guys can help.

I have a 1993 Subaru Legacy, 2.2 Turbo, with an automatic behind it, AWD. So, day before yesterday I was at Burger King, had been running the car around all morning and it ran fine. So, I stopped and got something to eat and came out and it wouldn't start. Not getting any fuel to the motor and the pump is not running. No check engine light or anything like that. I put a new fuel pump in it tonight and still it does nothing. This is my daily driver and I need it back. I am stumped. Also, when I turn the key on, there is a little black box under the intake tube that comes out of the fender, when I take that black box off, there are 2 relays inside it. When I turn the key on they click a couple times, don't know if that's normal or not but I never noticed it before. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello;

The first thing to check is the fuses under the hood and the drivers side kick panel! The relays you found have nothing to do with the fuel pump. I just addressed this issue and what a job. Run your newly installed fuel pump with a remote power source and make sure the car will start. The relays you are looking for are above the fuse/relay block, about 6 inches. A metal bracket with three clips hold the relays. On the left is the fuel relay (10amp), center is the engine management relay (15amp). Just below this is the ignition switch relay (22amp). Check all three relays with a remote power source and a ohm meter. I had to disconnect the battery, remove sill cover, lower cover, fuse block, ECM, and lot of wires. Good luck, Steven.
