Few things since my last update. Front and rear Brembos are on the car along with '04 STi BBS wheels. Added an innovate wideband on the steering column. Replaced all the interior and puddle lights with LEDs. Had Nordic Retrofit do a Morimoto HID retrofit and custom housings on another set of headlights. I dropped my car off with my mechanic about two months ago to finally diagnose the random misfires I've been experiencing for the past couple years (). I kept putting it off because I simply assumed I needed a new engine, after 146k miles of hard use I wouldn't have been surprised.

Lo and behold, every cylinder has 0% leakdown hot and cold, with 135psi cold compression across the board. With that pleasantly surprising news we proceeded to hunt down every possible avenue of misfire. We were able to determine that it was NOT caused by: spark plugs, coil packs, fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, engine harness grounds, ECU, tune, MAF sensor, or boost leaks (although my Forge BPV was pissing boost all over).

Final diagnosis was that the head gasket on cylinders 2 and 4 is likely shot. Its missing primarily on that bank, and there was carbon build up in my coolant overflow. No overheating and it wasn't bubbling the coolant.

My mechanic was putting his wife's Outback XT back to a "stock" stage 2 setup from her VF52 build, so I picked up a top feed conversion, set of ID1000s, DW300 fuel pump, and a set of Moore blast plates.

The car is now back home with me, running better now that its not bleeding boost everywhere, but still missing a lot at idle and cruise. The plan is to put some money away for a couple months then take the car back to have the headgaskets replaced, get the valves adjusted, install the fuel system, blast plates, new clutch, and new turbo. Right now I'm debating between the BNR HTA68 and Blouch 380XT. Not sure what clutch I'll be going with either. I'd like to be making ~350whp on pump and over 400 on E85.

Hopefully by next spring I'll have some dollars squirreled away for a set of 18" SSRs I've had my eye on, and a set of RCE Tarmac2s.

Probably going to order a set of Wedge Engineering brackets for them. Or have someone local make brackets. They were used in an STi before I bought them and are ready to bolt onto new brackets using the OEM sliders.

Should hopefully have some real GTX3067R related updates soon. Didn't mess with the car much at all over the last year while getting my new business up and running, but finally had some more time as of late to start making more progress. Heres a few little teasers.

I've actually been driving the car a ton lately (mileage in the past month has been more than the past two years). I don't know why I love this dumb old wagon so much, but I do.

Slowly getting there. I just try not to think about what I've spent already, and what it's going to cost to get it "finished". All the interior stuff was "cheap" at $3k...

Will probably end up being a really expensive $9k Subaru. LOL

Stock location 3" inlet GTX3067R installed, Perrin inlet, with ID1000s, Radium rails, TGV delete, GrimmSpeed thermoresin spacers, Aeromotive X1 afpr, and DW300C. Basically looks like a stage 2 setup to the casual observer. I dig it.

Wrapping it up tomorrow and then heading down to Chicago to have JR tune it. Its not going to be crazy, but it should be fun.

Trimmed the "webbing" from between the runners (it always gets so dirty there!), cut off the mounting bosses for the OEM intercooler, fuel line bracket, and turbo inlet. Sanded it down, cleaned it up, then spray painted it with Rustoleum "Hammered Finish" gunmetal metallic.
