garageelegance
Im not much of a Subaru guy but I just totaled my car and Im looking to buy a legacy GT. My cousin is selling his 2005 Legacy GT on Craigslist right now but its an automatic. Im coming from the Audi A4 family and those things have so many problems. Before he sells it, i wanted to come here and ask what you guys think. Here's the link. Its been in the family for a long time so he might cut me a deal. Is 5K worth it if i do stuff all by myself? thats the link. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/3220791447.html What aftermarket parts would i be able to do to it. How much HP does the stock tranny handle? Legacy GT gods please chime in
Moderators BarManBean Posted August 22, 2012 Moderators Share Posted August 22, 2012 Did your cousin take care of the car? I actually just emailed him about possibly purchasing the car and he said he's having a new turbo installed. I'm of the opinion that he's not doing the right thing and that there may be engine damage / oil contamination, but I haven't actually seen the car to know this, just a guess. However, turbos usually blow for a reason and simply slapping a new one on there is usually a recipe for disaster. The car also needs a new timing belt very shortly. Has your cousin maintained the car well? Frequent oil changes, fluid changes, etc.? "Bullet-proof" your OEM TMIC! <<Buy your kit here>> Not currently in stock

It was always fixed at subaru in Tyson's va and never anywhere else.
