stevenva
Did the 2nd Gen legacy ever come with any under hood soundamping liner? If not has anybody done their own and has suggestions on a source for the mat material. Vibration is not a problem so I'm not considering any "Dynamat" type solutions. Stang70Fastback
No it doesn't. I added some left-over Damplifier material to my hood in a couple of spots last year, but did not notice any difference at all other than the hood making a bit more of a thudding sound when I close it, lol. Then again, that's not what you're looking for, so I suppose my response is rather pointless...
Stasis
Here's the stock lining in my gtb: http://iforce.co.nz/i/0qpipeib.y30.jpg It's a bit worn but is mostly intact
Stang70Fastback
Oh, mine has that. But that's not really a sound dampener, is it? I just thought that was both to protect the hood from engine heat, and to help smother a fire if one ever broke out.
Kennyfvholla
Yeah, all that does is keep heat away from the hood. Also, putting any sound deadener under the hood is a pointless waste of money. To actually reduce unde hood noise from reaching the interior, you'll want to line the interior side of the firewall with deadener. That will make the biggest difference. And then the floor as well.
