Stang70Fastback
This video makes it seem so simple to do that I'm really tempted to try it... SpecBamf41
Damn you I was looking at this last night and was going to surprise you all with blaze orange. Sent from my Galaxy Tab using TapaTalk 2 BNR18g on 93oct
Stang70Fastback
I just don't have the professional spraying equipment to do it with. I wish I knew someone with a real spray gun, because I would totally buy the plasti-dip and try it. Worst that happens is I peel it right back off. JaeDM413
You can buy a kit with the wagner paint gun they are using. If they are using it, I don't see why you couldn't. I am going to be plastidipping my car after my 5mt swap is done. Got to fix some rust spots too.
SpecBamf41
They sell kits with the gun. Tape. And 2 gallons with thinner. Sent from my Galaxy Tab using TapaTalk 2 BNR18g on 93oct
Stang70Fastback
It just doesn't seem worth the cost for a paint job that will only last a year or so. If I had the tools, and all I needed to buy was the $20 of paint, I might do it for shits and giggles, though.
SpecBamf41
The kit is 240. Paint is 60 a gallon Sent from my Galaxy Tab using TapaTalk 2 BNR18g on 93oct
Baddog
It works rather well. It's not LONG lasting however. But...The cool thing is with our older cars...Why not? Why pay for an expensive paint job?
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted August 11, 2012 I Donated Share Posted August 11, 2012 I've been thinking about doing this with my Outback. It is kind of my beater car, so a high quality paint job isn't really a concern... -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." SpecBamf41
But its not a tough paint that you need John. You would have tears in it real fast. You need to paint your carnin bed liner Sent from my Galaxy Tab using TapaTalk 2 BNR18g on 93oct
I Donated broknindarkagain Posted August 12, 2012 I Donated Share Posted August 12, 2012 I've been thinking that too....the only downfall to bed liner that it adds a lot of weight -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." monkeyposeur
Ha ha! It's worth painting your ol beater if you do it yourself. It's about $500 in materials and and at least a few thousand of your time, lol. It also helps if you have access to a spraybooth, a $1,000 spray gun, and a master bodyman to guide you throughout the whole process. But thanks for the plastidip suggestion. The rear windsheild cowl on my SS is flaking and looking like hell. Plastidip is perfect for fixing it.
SpecBamf41
Its official. I'm painting this car blaze orange with blaze orange rims. Though should I do it now or after the build. Sent from my Galaxy Tab using TapaTalk 2 BNR18g on 93oct
