Alter_
Ok so my car didn't come with cruise control Picked up the vacuum lines pump actuator cruise control ecu controls cruise button Installed everything. The cruise light comes on (button that you push to activate cruise) but my lever to activate cruise doesn't seem to do anything. Bad pump? Actuator? However the cruise sign doesn't come on the dash (if there is one)
JFB
Could just be the lever too. Mine doesn't work and I know it's the lever.

Alter_
JFB - I watched the voltage change when moving the lever but I also suspect that. Lilbrudder - I read about the clutch switch and a copper washer of some type needing to be ground down. I will look at both these options today
Alter_
What am I looking for on the clutch switch? Way back there.. I could disable it .. make a jumper with a manual switch so I can start the vehicle. Testing purposes I also scanned the system with a obdII scanner. No codes - everything passed From the nasioc boards - It's the NEUTRAL POSITION SAFETY SWITCH. This was solved years ago. It's a sensor on the top of the transmission. Cheap part, but a pain in the ass to replace. It's technically doable with the tranny in the car, but most people wait and do the fix while doing a clutch. Symptoms include: inability to engage cruise or engaging cruise and it shuts off for no reason. Mine was progressive: it started with random cruise disengagement, occurring a couple times a year. It got more and more frequent until I finally couldn't engage the cruise control at all. Replaced the sensor and all was well. FYI, this plagued the 04 STi almost exclusively. Alter_
Well changed out the main cruise switch with one that came from a working vehicle. Didn't change the issue. Mine never engages so i don't believe it is a clutch or brake switch. Neutral switch, ecu, actuator, vacuum pump are the next things.
BDII
Does your horn work? The fuse for the horn in some subarus is also the fuse for the CC. I blew it when I installed my Hellas a few months back and my horn and CC didn't work. May not be applicable to your model. Need forum help? JFB
Well changed out the main cruise switch with one that came from a working vehicle. Didn't change the issue. Mine never engages so i don't believe it is a clutch or brake switch. Neutral switch, ecu, actuator, vacuum pump are the next things. My button/switch works fine, just the lever doesn't engage the CC. Notably before it completely STB on me it was flaky at best.
Alter_
Well after reading up here http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2153889 I was able to find out what I was missing. Turns out the brake switch on a non cruise car is different. Along with the clutch switch. Going to go to the junk yard and pull the 2 switches I need. Cross yer fingers!
