usawinston
The other day we had some heavy rain and the water level rose to the point where I had to rush and move my car out of the rising water to avoid the loss of my car. The water level was around 2 inches above the bottom of the door seal. As I opened the door, a gallon or so of water rushed in, destroying the DVD navigation system under the driver seat (2009 Legacy Spec B). Now my car alarm keeps going off when I lock the car and leave it. I reset the ECU, still does it. Any ideas?

Dbl_D718
Does your insurance cover flood damage? I'd make a claim... MODS: PW TMIC, Cobb catted DP, HKS cat-back, AVO filter, Bren e-tune; Konis/Epics, Advan RCII
usawinston
Yeah, my insurance policy does cover it. I honestly don't care about the Navigation system and would rather keep my deductible if it's any easy fix.
Dbl_D718
Eh, if that much water got in there, I'd want it fixed. It'll help resale value if the nav still works. The carpet is probably gonna smell soon too. Plus whatever go fried that controls the alarm is probably expensive haha. But I'm no help on the alarm. I don't know where the brain for it is. Moderators BarManBean Posted August 8, 2012 Moderators Share Posted August 8, 2012 Yeah, there's likely more damage than you can imagine. Get a quote from insurance and see if it's worth your deductible, you might be surprised at how much they estimate the overall fix to cost.
