Moderators BarManBean Posted July 27, 2012 Moderators Share Posted July 27, 2012 I have a friend who has a 2012 WRX and he just removed his speakers to replace them with aftermarket ones. Does anyone know if it would be worth it at all to snatch these and replace the speakers in my '05 LGT (limited, wagon if that matters). They'd probably be free, just wondering if there's any benefit at all or if it would just be a waste of time. Thanks for any input. I Donated Too laff79 Posted July 27, 2012 I Donated Too Share Posted July 27, 2012 total waste of time. Subaru factory speakers are gahbage. For ~100 bucks, you could have entry level components. I like my Polk's. With an amp driving them, they are worth the hassle it was putting them in.
mark5032
If I was going to take the time to pull off door panels, I would install something a little better. If you did not want to mess with components, you can get some decent coaxial speakers for around $60. As a side note, I'm kind of shocked how inexpensive amps have gotten in the last decade. Moderators BarManBean Posted July 27, 2012 Author Moderators Share Posted July 27, 2012 TBH, I don't want to bother with adding an amp or anything else--total car audio n00b, and if I start doing the research I'll start legitimately wanting things, lol. I figured it was a waste of time--at some point I'll just replace 'em with something aftermarket, I guess pretty much anything aftermarket tends to be better than OEM. ssbtech
Have you heard Impreza/Forester sound systems? They're on-par with 10 year old Hyundai Accents. The 05 Legacy's system is much better.
