Speaker wire to RCA converter

I have a question.I used one of these converters to run to my amps could it work the other way around?I want to make a quick disconect for my amps and sub box so they can be removed. Then I could just use the head unit to power the speakers in the doors. So could I hook the RCA's in the trunk to the converter then the speaker wires to the other side of the converter? It would complete the circut right?

That's actually backwards. Line output converters connect to a high level speaker output and convert it to a low level output so you can use rca's to send a signal to a sub amp. For the set up you're looking to have, it's prob easier to mount the amp separately that way you just have to disconnect the sub and pull the box. I would also pull the amp fuse(s) when you pull the sub box out. Disconnecting the sub or amp will have no affect on the speakers cuz all you're doing is tapping onto the speaker leads for the line output converter. Just hook it up behind the deck and run the rca's back.

You could solder extensions onto all of the speaker wires and run then into the trunk, and have your line converter in the trunk. Have some quick disconnect terminals on the line converter, speaker wires coming from head unit, and wires leading to speakers.

It would probably be simpler to just put an amp under one of the front seats, or maybe the Alpine 445 in the dash. I'm planning on building a spare tire mount sub box because I don't want to mess with a big sub box in the trunk of my car. Actually, I just took the subs out and left the old box for the garbage man to take two weeks ago.
